We loved staying at Tongariro Crossing Lodge. Our unit was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners were friendly and helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable and were a great example of genuine Kiwi hospitality! We would definitely reccomend TCL to other travellers.

Nice place to stay and enjoy trips in the national park ( Tongariro, Ruapehu...). Quiet, nice views, confortable... The charming owner could do many things for you and is very useful as advisor ( transports...) Just ask him. Wifi sometimes not available in bedrooms ( depends on the place of the bedrooms) but there's a nice garden where you can...

We stayed here after hiking all day in Tongariro National Park. The suites are very spacious, the bedrooms are large and the kitchen is an added plus. The beds were very comfortable. We stayed in a room with a shower that was life-changing! It had multiple pulsating jets and a radio. I think we took 3 showers/day each. Colin was...

Friends of ours had booked this lodge via an European agent. We booked and joined them. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. Will stay there again and recommend the lodge to friends. If we go again and to the Crossing will definitely stay there. Owner has lots of knowledge as well

Spent 3 nights in this period lodge. The rooms were spacious and had the essentials for a comfortable stay anywhere - a good bed and powerful shower. The breakfasts were healthy, tasty and catered for gluten free easily. Our kind and helpful hosts collected us from the station and offered good advice on nearby walks and the history of the...

Very big room, clean, kitchen right alongside (wich also save the odour you might make by cooking), very nice environment. No trafic noise. Wi-fi is a bit low, but landowner is very thoughtful and arrange anything. The big plus is having a break, or your meals, in the sunshine on the terrace, with beautiful flowers around, in a quiet environment....

We arrived late on the Friday night from Auckland. It was all no problem for our host, Colin. The beds were on and the room was warm for our mid winter getaway. The rooms are nice and big plus very comfortable. Colin also has so much knowledge on the area and things to do. Great weekend away

Excellent clean and tidy rooms, the Lodge has a nice setting and is an easy walk to the bar and restaurants. The owners are very friendly and helped us with crossing and river information. Thoroughly recommended.

My wife and I loved the location and old world charm of our room at Tongariro Crossing Lodge. It was clean, very spacious, and the antique furniture gave it a Victorian feel. We especially loved the green velour couch, which was incredibly comfortable. The lodge is very close to the park visitor center and convenient for hiking and dining.

Very affordable location, very friendly staff. We had an all-inclusive deal for the crossing which was great: twice breakfast, lunch package, diner, and the shuttle service to and from the crossing. The spa was ready for us when we came back from the crossing to give our legs some rest. The lodge rooms are small and a bit noisy. But...
