We came for Tongariro Northern circuit hike. On the day of arrival, the lady at the counter who help us check in was very helpful and friendly. She helped us with the transportation to Whakapapa village and also arranged the pick up when we returned few days later. The room was comfortable and clean. Bathrooms and toilets were clean. Nice powered sites with very clean toiletts and hot showers, great cooking facilities. They also have a good shuttle to the Tongariro Crossing we used. Very friendly and helpfull staff, who gave us very good weather information for the Crossing.

Family run hotel. Must be crazy at times but they had time to answer questions and resolve small issues. The hotel will shuttle people too and from The Crossing. That said, their recommendation was to do the Tama Lakes tramp ... and they were right. Would stay again!!

Glad the alternative hike was accepting. Walking over ancient lave fields and alpine forest is just beautiful. Have a family lodge and two small children can be crazy but we love it.Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

Spent one night at the Plateau Lodge before doing the Tongariro Northern Circuit. The lodge provided flexible transport from their location. Location right next to a cafe/bar, staff friendly, even gave free room upgrade. Thanks.

Plateau Lodge suited all my needs for my two nights in Tongariro national park. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I got the shuttle to the alpine crossing which was really efficient. The rooms are spacious and there are good bathroom/kitchen/communal facilities.

Stayed here for 2 nights (before and after the trek). The stay was good - the room was spacious and clean. I arranged with owners for a one way drop off at the start of the hike while we parked the car at the end, and that arrangement went smoothly. The hotel does have a hot tub which you can...

Friendly greeting from the owners and their cute son, Corey, who helped bring firewood into the lounge to heat up the wood stove.... Comfy bed with individual heaters. Small sink but no real place to store belongings. Like most places we had to work out of our suitcase. There's laundry and a hot tub available to use for 30 minutes. We...

We booked Plateau Lodge in the first instance because they provided a shuttle service to the start of the Tongariro Crossing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly, providing us with all the information we needed as well as letting us know about other walking options when the weather didn't play ball on the day we originally wanted...

Thank you for commenting and choosing to stay in the Tongariro National Park. November can be a fickle month with weather. We do experiencing snow/ rain/ sunshine all in one week. Im glad you had the chance to hike the Tongariro Alpine crossing and hike over active volcanoes.
