Our stay, of one night, started well. However, on our return from dinner in Tulbagh we had no running water - bottled water only to clean teeth, wash faces, but no shower, no working toilet, nothing, and no staff anywhere - no phone number, and although we went from the manor house into the grounds, could not find the manager's...

Beautiful place! Historical charm with a blue blue pool and great wines. We had a tasting and cheese platter and truly enjoyed a wonderful afternoon session. The Shiraz was my favourite and the service was attentive at our table from a French-accent gentleman.

What a beautiful location and view we could not have asked for a better start to our holiday! We stayed in the rietdakkies which is completely private and away from everyone. You have your own deck and a view to die for!!! The only downside is that there was no fireligher to start a fire!! We would have loved a...

This place is absolutely stunning and special. The whole feel is a farm full of stories, beauty, personality and friendliness. We were met by the two brothers that run the estate for the owner that lives in Joburg. The farm dogs laze around and the gardens are beautifully kept. I almost cannot put in words the magical place that Montpellier...

This beautiful wine estate is the property of a well-respected Johannesburg advocate who purchased it fifteen years' ago and has spent large sums extending and improving the accommodation and most importantly the cellars and conferencing facilities. I slept in a four poster bed in a tiny but charming room - my bathroom was across the hall so not ensuite but...

Montpellier was our first wine tasting endeavour in Tulbagh. The tree lined lane running up to the old manor house presents the perfect picture to the stunning farm. There is a chapel between the vines atop the hill when entering the property and is such a magnificent sight that I can only imagine the stunning weddings that can be had...

Immanuel the flamboyant Malawian wine ambassador is a real asset to the estate. We were welcomed and shown to a lush sitting room where a roaring fire created a warm ambience on a wet and cold winter’s morning. Immanuel also made great effort to make our 8 year old child feel comfortable and welcome. We tried almost all of the...

I celebrated by 33rd birthday at Montpellier and booked a two night stay at the Manor House. The accommodation is set on a working estate which includes horses, sheep and wine making facilities. What impressed me the most was the amazing service we received. I cannot thank the staff enough. We arrived fairly late in the afternoon (when most wine...

Such super people running the show. We arrived in a blizzard to thin based pizzas in the conservatory, where a fire was crackling....very warm and welcoming experience after a hectic "after-work" trip up to Tulbach. Next day we had a wonderful wine tasting in the Manor house around the fire, hosted by the very knowledgeable and competent Emanuel, who couldn't...
