Despite having lived in the Borders for over 10 years I’d never ventured to Leitholm until now. The Plough Inn is a hidden gem in this peaceful and scenic area. The food was delicious and I had probably the nicest sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever tasted. The cook even came to speak to us to make sure we were all happy with the portion sizes and the food in general. Will definitely be returning!
Sarah and David are amazing hosts, their attention to detail could not be faulted. Our well appointed room, the service provided and Sarah's amazing cooking skills exceeded all prior expectations. So much so, that we detoured on our way home to spend another great night been spoilt.
A fabulous stay, food was amazing, room was spotless, slept very well during our 2 night stay, thank you to David and Sarah for being fantastic hosts, Sarah for your delicious food and David for looking after us each evening in the bar. Highly recommended, a gem of a find on our trip to Scotland. Thank you.
We received a very warm welcome here with our dog. Food is excellent with plenty of choice. The beer on hand pump is great. I can highly recommend the pizza and the sticky toffee pudding. So good we returned later in the week. Thank you.
We had a takeaway tonight and it was just gorgeous!! 3 of us had pizzas, amazing and we had the veggie fish and chips (halloumi). Loads of good veggie options which is unusual for a pub, but great for me and my partner! Great home cooked food as per usual, couldn’t recommend more. Will have to get a sit down meal soon!
Thank you to Sarah and David for a lovely stay, very warm welcoming hosts! The room was very clean and cosy, slept like a baby! Lovely to have a flask of fresh milk rather than the plastic pods. Breakfast was delicious and kept us going for our long journey back home
Thank you so much for your hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and the meal we had was superb. It was the best burger that I've tasted in a good long while. Excellent hosts and a lovely pub. A perfect stopover for exploring the Scottish borders.
Popped in for Lunch passing Coldstream. The couple were soon closing for the afternoon however they accommodated us and the Food was delicious. Our table was situated next to a nice warm coal fire kids were able to play and the atmosphere was family friendly.
Stopped by for lunch after visiting nearby Coldstream, and what a thoroughly enjoyable visit it was. The pub itself is lovely, and is spotlessly clean. The owners, David and Sarah, were extremely friendly and were wonderful hosts. Food was delicious and portion sizes were generous (the pies are amazing). Best of all, the pub is dog friendly. They made our puppy extremely welcome. Definitely recommended, we'll certainly be visiting again!
I stayed here while running 2 events locally . I was hungry and shattered and so glad of the lovely warm welcome from The owners . I was recommended a local gin which was lovely and cooked a much needed fish and chips - delicious 😋 Chatted to a local who very kindly rushed home to get me a refresher to help my heartburn ( amazed to say it worked !) Then up to my room which was so much better than the usual . Fresh milk in a thermal flask , fresh coffee and a cafetière, hot water bottle , very very comfy bed , Netflix on a perfectly positioned tv to watch from bed and a huge walk in shower with great water pressure . A little find of a place . Thank you
