Despite having lived in the Borders for over 10 years I’d never ventured to Leitholm until now. The Plough Inn is a hidden gem in this peaceful and scenic area. The food was delicious and I had probably the nicest sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever tasted. The cook even came to speak to us to make sure we were all happy with the portion sizes and the food in general. Will definitely be returning!

Sarah and David are amazing hosts, their attention to detail could not be faulted. Our well appointed room, the service provided and Sarah's amazing cooking skills exceeded all prior expectations. So much so, that we detoured on our way home to spend another great night been spoilt.

We stayed here on the 3rd September for 1 night, The hotel is immaculate and very comfortable. And the food is of very good quality and perfectly cooked. Rooms are well equipped with everything you need and not just a kettle and all the beverages but a dolce gusto coffe machine and lots of pods, Also ran by a very nice couple who are a joy to talk to, All in all a very nice stay and would highly recommend for a night or two away . So comfortable to sleep in, very bright, airy and above all spotless.
Expect a country pub in reality, but with excellent hosts and cooking. Hot water all day, towel rails, nice fittings. A relaxed and comfortable home for a holiday without stress or worry.
Cannot recommend the Plough more. we stayed for six nights and did not long to be home. Breakfast was excellent and could not fault the cleaner.
First choice on the Borders for us all.

This was a treat from my son and his wife. I had no preconceptions but was overwhelmed by what I found. David and Sarah have created a real home from home, a welcoming bar, remarkable rooms and cleanliness to a high degree. The decor is tasteful and to a high standard with the placement of ornaments and touches of whimsy raising a smile at every turn, you can't go wrong with this one.

Text: Stayed here overnight and had a lovely time. Such a warm welcome by Sarah and David and our 3yr old was warmly welcomed and very well catered for.
We brought our own inflatable travel bed, they did however offer to provide one.
Lunch and breakfast was really delicious, highly recommend.
Our room was lovely, some nice little touches and refreshments tray. We stayed in the Thomson room. Large shower in bathroom. Spacious room.
Hamish the ginger cat was gorgeous , anyone and anywhere that loves cats is all good in my book!

Stopped by for lunch after visiting nearby Coldstream, and what a thoroughly enjoyable visit it was. The pub itself is lovely, and is spotlessly clean. The owners, David and Sarah, were extremely friendly and were wonderful hosts. Food was delicious and portion sizes were generous (the pies are amazing).
Best of all, the pub is dog friendly. They made our puppy extremely welcome.
Definitely recommended, we'll certainly be visiting again!

We had a takeaway tonight and it was just gorgeous!! 3 of us had pizzas, amazing and we had the veggie fish and chips (halloumi). Loads of good veggie options which is unusual for a pub, but great for me and my partner! Great home cooked food as per usual, couldn’t recommend more. Will have to get a sit down meal soon!
