Booked a chalet as we were taking our dog on the trip to visit our daughter who’s studying at University of York. Set in a lovely rural village. Extremely quiet. Easy to find. Parked directly outside accommodation. Property is old and has had some repairs and improvements/modernisations. These included a new fitted kitchen kitchen and bathroom. Some work is still needed but can see it’s in progress. Chalet was clean, tidy and had everything you would need. It was extremely warm. Perhaps a little too warm. Heating seemed to be on 24/7! Shouldn’t grumble could have been cold! We did have an issue when using the oven. Whilst it was preheating it kept setting smoke alarm off!! Might need a clean 🤨. Although looked ok to me. This terrified the dog unfortunately. With regards to it being dog friendly. The chalet allows dogs but unfortunately we weren’t allowed to use the garden for him to go to the toilet - not even a wee. As other dog owners will appreciate they need to go when they wake up. This meant first thing in the morning one of us had to get dressed, half asleep to take him off site to do his business. Not ideal. Think this needs to be made clear in property information. This was the reason we booked this accommodation so we didn’t have to do that 😡. Apart from this minor issue we enjoyed our stay. Our key was in the chalet door on arrival so didn’t really meet our hosts. As we didn’t order a breakfast we only had contact when we settled our bill. The young lady seemed pleasant. Would probably stay again but without dog in one of their smaller rooms.…
Ideal location to drive or park and ride into York. Plenty big enough for two people. Everything is there that you could need for self catering including fresh ground cofee. Nice touch with the DAB radio alarm. Free parking on site. Good value. Recommended.
In a perfect location - close enough to go to York via the park and ride but in a quiet village location that suited me perfectly. The host was friendly. Having gone out, she left a welcome note with helpful information so I could settle in right away. The chalet was wonderful! So much more than I was expecting, with details such as tea bags and toiletries, which were much appreciated. We were welcome to sit in the garden and I found the suggested village walk a thoughtful touch in the guest handbook. And a very pleasant excursion too! For me, it was a perfect little get-away. I can't wait to stay there again!
Chalet- booked in for 2 nights but only stayed the one. very dated, poorly decorated, too much furniture had a job moving around apart from the kitchen. Said it was dog friendly but was not allowed to use the garden had to take the dogs off premises for a walk. Very over priced. Kitchen & bathroom was not bad.
