During our trip to Provence we’ve picked up the most magical guest houses to stay in and La Grande Lauzade was an absolute favourite.
First of all, the story of this old establishment, which used to be a church, but was demolished back in the days and the only thing that was left was the arch of the altar. A beautiful ruin that was the beginning of a new story, this beautiful house that can be your home in Provence for few days. The building is absolutely gorgeous and so is the pool and terrace where you will be serving breakfast next to other guests and the owners. It is a great way to meet new and interesting people that all have the same interest, having a happy life and traveling a lot. We loved this part of our stay at La Grande Lauzade and also the pool area is simply amazing, super relaxing with a gorgeous view to the vineyards and an old pine tree. They also have an indoor pool/jacuzzi. The covered pool is at the basement of the house, next to the old wine cellar and everything looks amazing. It is a very relaxing area with a lot of wood and chill music, perfect for a rainy day.
The rooms and the whole house are very beautifully decorated, mixing a modern and vintage style. The kitchen area was also stunning. I know I keep repeating these adjectives, but it’s true. They also have a gym and a very interesting ‘room’ located inside a school bus. It looked super cool and it has its own porch with a hot tub and comfy chairs, so it was difficult to choose whether we should stay there or in the house, but we chose a room in the attic, because the living room and kitchen area was too beautiful to miss while coming down from the room.
Really recommend this amazing place for short and long stays in Provence!

This wonderfully interesting house has a really lovely atmosphere.
the pool in the cave is a particularly special feature, we spent lots of time there chilling out in the warm relaxing water. There is no plastic, its all in natural materials and the feeling of peace is truly special.
our room was also lovely and the bed extremely comfortable, a new experience for us as it is a memory foam and water construction. I want one!!!
The "La Grande Lauzade" is a gem and i will recommend it to anyone.

Hello,

We spent 2 nights in this charming Bed & Breakfast on July. We were 4 persons (3 adults and 1 teenager) and stayed in room Cabernet.

Room was excellent with good air-condition in both rooms. I consider that as a must if you want to sleep at all. And be aware that many places sell air condition when there is only small fan available... Rooms were very clean and there were also nice beds.

Surroundings are simply beautiful. Pool is very tempting after hot day.
Breakfast in the garden with fresh bread, jams, juice, coffee was simply great & relaxing beginning for the day.

But best part of course was our lovely hosts, Corinne, Thierry, their children, cats and dog. They made our visit a special one. We received extremely good advice to visit lavender fields and also went to the lovely restaurant nearby (good food and music..).
Breakfast in the garden was best part of the day.

I highly recommend La Grande Lauzade for the bed and breakfast in Provence area.
We enjoyed the fact that Le Luc is not full of tourists. Since you will need a car anyway it is only a short ride to lavender fields or to the beach.

All the best for La grande Lauzade! I hope that you will get many happy visitors.

An oasis of calm in Le Luc. The old house used to be a Church, it has all comfort and really lovely Swiss German owners who keep the place in perfect condition. We had the Melomanes room on the first floor which was very spacious with great corner views over the wineyards. We loved the waterbed and slept like babies. The breakfast outside is organic and delicious. Make sure you stock up on the lovely cote de Provence rosé wines from the neighborhood. A very special place.

The house is thoughtfully furnished with great care and imagination. Bathrooms are well planned and rooms are full of select shabby charm antiques.. Most rooms have views over the vineyards- ours didn't because it was a converted attic with skylights - but we did have the luxury of sleeping on a round waterbed. The air conditioning was unstintingly supplied and very welcome, given the heat.

The owners are engaging, and eloquent: breakfast under the plane trees is French (as advertised so no cheese or ham) with excellent organic patisseries and local jams, good bread selection, home made yoghurt.

The infinity pool is more for dipping than serious swimming - but the view is lovely. The estate dates back to late 18th century and was built on the foundations of church. From a tourist's point of view, however, the local economic development in the interim has not enhanced the area's overall beauty. The village of Le Luc feels a little deprived, the railway is close and clearly audible, ditto the local major road. Depending on your sensitivities it's not bothersome - but maybe check google earth before you book.

If you're willing to do some driving and/or spend days just relaxing and lounging on the very comfortable and stylish deckchairs - this is your place. For access to beaches at (Hyeres 45 - 60 mins) and or local hills (Massif des Maures - or valley of Issole) for walking, bring extra time and energy.

Thanks for your words and explanation. We try to do our best with the full English version of our website LaGrandeLauzade.com and the virtual tour of our House, and each rooms, to avoid any surprise about the localisation of our guesthouse (as you said: a perfect crossroad for visiting Provence) or the feeling inside each rooms: two of them are attics, two have a beautiful countryside wiew on south, each one is different, some have whirlpool bath, shower, or both, all are airco équipped, free wifi available everywhere, lounge with 8pool, flat screen tv/dvd in each room, sat/tv in the lounge... You make the good choice of a x-large circlesized waterbed, other rooms have shape memory (Tempur) or hybrid matress (water+tempur): so that you have a large choice for your stay by us. For shure, our infinity outdoor heated pool is not "olympic sized", but you get a bubble bath in, and a 6 seat jacuzzi near. The indoor pool (in the XIth century old cellar) heated and available all year long is something quite "spécial", don't you think? We will be happy to welcome you home again, by ex. in the room "Mélomanes"? Just check availability on our website, it's so easy to book-on-line. All the best! See you soon.

A very relaxing B&B or Gite/s. We rented the latter and enjoyed a tranquil setting just outside Le Luc and just over an hour away from the beaches west of St Tropez. The pool was of a reasonable size and the accommodation was spacious and clean with a typical rustic charm. Our hosts were welcoming without being overbearing.

We stopped here en route between Nice and Aix, fabulous setting with incredible history. Thierry and Corrine and their children were very welcoming, the rooms were perfect for a family of five (inter connecting). Breakfast was delicious with home made jams, Thierry told us the history of the place which has been in Corrine's family for years - fascinating. The pool and setting are all magical. This is a truly magical place and we would definitely return and recommend. The King family, W12.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in La Grande Lauzade in July/August. Corine & Thierry made us feel so welcome in their stunning home, always there to advise us when needed. We used La Grande as our base as we toured the south of france on our Harley travelling to St Tropez, Monte Carlo and Monaco, Nice, Cannes returning each evening to our lovely room. We stayed in their Estanci room which was huge, furnished with beautiful traditional French furniture, with air-conditioning and their superb mattresses we were able to have the most comfortable nights sleep even though the temperatures were high! If you want to eat in the local restaurants you are better driving to them(just 5 mins along the road), we tried walking, which was fine while it was light, but a little daunting walking back to the b&b (both Corine and Thierry did warned us), due to the lack of footpaths or street lighting along a very fast road (but this is the countryside, so to be expected). We used to have our main meal wherever we were touring that day, then pick up a few snacks and a bottle of wine to eat back at our b&b. The b&b is set off the road and is so peaceful and quiet, it is an ideal place to chill out after a day of touring. We had a day off from the touring one day and lounged around the stunning pool which was wonderful. Breakfast was served each morning on the terrace which included a variety of homemade fruit juices, homemade breads, homemade jams and homemade yogurt all made by Corine, I enjoyed your homemade yoghurt so much i have tried to make it myself which im finding pretty tricky, care to share your recipe and method Corine? please? It was so nice to sit and chat with other guests during breakfast and find out where they were from and where they were visiting, once again Thierry was there to help, as we spoke very little French. You will be pleased to know Thierry, we come home to England and have started a French course, so we will be better prepared for our next trip to France! I would like to say a huge thank you to both Corine and Thierry for making our first stay in France so welcoming and we would certainly recommend staying here. Thank you.

Thank you so much for these very kind words ! It was a pleasure to welcome you as well ! Our daughter was really impressed by your beautiful Harley, she had never seen such a huge motorbike before ! Here is the recipe of the yoghurts : you need to mix together 1 yoghurt, about 4 spoons of sugar, and lots of milk in powder, about 10 spoons. That will make the thickness of the yoghurts and, of course, 1 liter of milk. Then you put the jars in the yoghurt-maker for about 8 to 10 hours, and after for a least one hour in the fridge ! Please let me know the results of your next yoghurts experience !! Looking forward to welcome you again in la grande Lauzade, Kind regards, Corine and Thierry

We were pleasantly surprised when we were shown our room (Estanci) at Grande Lauzade. It was a great size and we really loved the decor and so clean that you felt you could eat off the floor. In fact, we don't think the photos do the room justice. There was great attention to detail; every item in the room felt like it had been selected with care, we loved being able to have music in the room and there was a lovely selection of local body products in the bathroom. I also loved the cast iron bath tub. The room was the entire length of the building so the flow of air was really lovely - from the bathroom window through to the window in the bedroom which was shaded by the beautiful trees at the front of the house...and such a lovely house.

Distinct from other places where we stayed in France, you really do feel like you are sharing Corinne and Thierry's home. When you have lovely hosts like Corinne and Thierry this is a real attraction, their children are charming and their presence really adds to the feel of this bed and breakfast. Their home has a wonderful atmosphere and we found that we were late getting away each day because we were so comfortable sitting over our breakfast out in the garden each day. We wished that we had more time to spend lazing in and around that wonderful pool with a view!

While Le Luc isn't the most convenient position it has the benefit of being relatively free of tourists and it is still a short drive to the wonderful villages in the region. We were actually quite happy with the location and being able to return to the oasis that is Grande Lauzade each afternoon.

While we were a couple, this would also be a perfect place also for families.

Thanks again Corinne and Thierry for welcoming us in your home. We wish you and your family all the best!
