...it´s still the way as described four years ago, if you can live w/o TV and your own sanitary facilities (the communal ones are impeccably clean), the service of a restaurant and the likes (even breakfast has to be ordered the day before) you find peace and quiet here. Bring your own drink / snacks / food, the place is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, easily reached by car from Dusseldorf / Moenchengladbach though - even from Cologne if you don´t mind the drive. This is not a hotel, it is too different. It is a monastery and it is proudly preserved. The rooms have neither wc nor shower, but these are nearby and there is a washbasin and a small boiler for generating your own warm water in some minutes. There is no TV on the room, but you will have your own readings along, perhaps even such which you never had time to read otherwise. The bed was excellent, the cupboard larger than in many hotels, the view towards the inner court. It is minimalistic, but it makes you reflect over how little is needed to feel welcome, relaxed and where some life qualities reside. Two days at the Medica fair in Düsseldorf, three nights here, what a contrast, but I would without hesitation do it again. Thank you to Nikolauskloster for having provided time for reflection instead of just rushing to next... well, next what? More
