We went on September 2020 (our 10th time) ... a difficult time for everyone, but we had to re-meet the Caribbean, we had scheduled to go in March but we couldn't due to the pandemic. We feel the security of making the trip when we saw on the hotel's social networks all the changes that had been made to offer an environment with all the biosecurity measures and certified by an international company. And so it was, the shuttle that carried us from the airport to the hotel was at 40% capacity, once arriving at the hotel they received us with all the biosecurity controls. They gave us as a souvenir a beautiful reusable glass with a straw to avoid the use of plastic. The rooms ready, as always clean and impeccable room, disinfected, with sprays included to disinfect our objects. The first thing is the breakfast in Balam buffet ... tasty, varied, healthy and safe, tables disinfected and separated and have a little hook to place the face mask. There is a new restaurant ... "Macao"(reside the pool), we recommend it! BBQ ribs, squid & chips, a variety of delicious pizza (we tried them all) ... among others, the restaurant and staff also with their biosecurity measures. In the background you can see the neat and clean white kitchen. What to say about the beach ... and those who have been there know how their skin turns goosegump when the turquoise blue appears from Balam. The beach chairs separated by a cord and disinfected ... we could finally remove the face mask hahaha ! Lunch is also varied, delicious and healthy ... I recommend the desserts: tiramisu, lemon pie, coconut, chocolate ... etc. After that I knew that I was not going to keep my pants for the return hahahaha. We always reserve dinners at San Simón and Calketts (they are a gastronomic marvel, 100% recommended seafood specialty). What to say about the bar ... it has some new cocktails that are the best. Anyway, just thank the Mayan Princess for putting at your disposal the most important resource you have ... your staff. They are wonderful ... we feel at home, protected and cared for them. Kevin, Gregory and Sterling, at reception desk, to Wilmer who very kindly helps us with the chairs and towels and makes the stay on the beach better, a special note to Cindy, Damara and Santos for always serving us with their kindness and smile, to Javier and Chef Roberto for always being aware of their guests and taking the time to approach the tables, to Jen for coordinating that we receive the impeccable rooms, ALWAYS ...we"ll definitely go back.…

Food and drinks were great. COVID safety measures are being enforced. Proposed to my girlfriend and the staff was really friendly and helpful at all times, making sure everything was perfect. Overall a wonderful experience.

Was a great week at Mayan Princess and the beach and water was amazing. The new upgrades to the resort are nice! And if you're going to dive be sure to ask for Tania! She's great. I highly recommend traveling NOW before everyone starts traveling again! You'll be glad you did avoiding the crowds. And bring a few extra $20's The island work force can really use the nice tips. They've been through a lot.

Excellent service, taking measures of social distancing in every area of the hotel.Hotel rooms super clean, we stayed at a villa, it had all the disinfection supplies you need and some pretty cool reusable glasses for all your trip. Professional staff, super friendly always willing to provide good service!

Fantastic day trip Snorkeling- our Diver and Captain are knowledgeable and eco- environmentally aware - protective of the reefs and sea life. First thing we saw was a stingray gliding right by us following a barracuda . The reefs are alive , the fish 🐠 were stunning - like swimming Over the Grand Canyon.... beautiful Day , thank you so much ! ♥️

There is no gym and I'm not sure if there is one that is local. However, if there is one, they will send for a car to carry you. The beach is just beautiful though and perfect for a walk or a run.

It takes an hour and a half (roughly) walk on the beach from west bay to west end (the closest town) Or a water taxi is $3usd a head and a land taxi is roughly $20usd a head. About kids, don’t know, was lucky enough not to have to travel with any.

I upgraded my room after arriving to be beach front, but I do not know if you can upgrade your food package. The food was good and I always enjoy all I can drink. I would call and ask them.

It’s really at your discretion. Not everyone tips but some do. I leave 2-3 for my maid every day.
Breakfast and lunch are buffet help your self, so many people are clearing your table. Then dinner again it’s really up to you. 2-5 if you want . It’s not mandatory. Bartenders and servers I really try to tip them especially the ones who make an effort of remembering your drinks and always there to get you more.Again its totally up to you.
