I stayed alongside with three other families in the Grand Roatan this Month. The hotel has always been kind to its customers but my visit surpassed all of my expectations. From freshly cut coconuts from the trees per request, to a catalogue of fresh king crabs, lobsters, and Hogfish.. the experience was eyeopening. Staff treated us like family, the chef was always monitoring the meals to be the best the island can provide, and Jimmy and the other waiters carried our drinks to the beach if requested. I can say that by far the experience in the Grand Roatan is the best in the island. Best location in West Bay, Best Views, and best amenities. We will be returning soon.

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I just came back after our second 4 week stay at the Grand Roatan. It is such a comfortable, clean, and welcoming environment we have made this our go to spot to rejuvenate and end our ‘winter blues’. Aside from the fantastic snorkelling and relaxing space it has staff worth their weight in gold. This year was extraordinary due to the pandemic. We were midway in our stay when things started shutting down but never concerned of not being cared for. Day after day the staff helped us all no matter what the circumstance we were in trying to figure out how to get home. We think Omar must have earned his angel wings on this trip! Brittany was our computer guru who helped us print out new itineraries for flights that eventually got us home. While we were waiting to have things work out we enjoyed the reef and the incredible snorkelling! Never have we seen the life so vibrant...even a turtle! We weren’t exactly quarantined but no one could wander too far and definitely not into this resort area. Staff were diligent about social spacing and keeping their customers safe. We again enjoyed the best meals we ever have away from home. Ezra, Jimmy and all their staff at the Iron Shore Bar and Grill are killer cooks and exquisite in their attention to presentation and anticipation of everyone’s needs. THANK YOU! We will be back next year if at all possible. Keep safe!

This was an amazing hotel that left me feeling like a superstar. Things did not start out that good. We were promised a 3 room 3 bath but had a 2 room 2 bath. It took the resort 2 hours to come up and unlock my extra room door. The beach and view are lovely. The rides all around the island were amazing!

We arrived 3/14. 2 days later Roatan basically shut down and all flights in and out cancelled. Our 1 week trip turned into 2 weeks really keeping us at our hotels....COVID19 related. The folks at Grand Roatan were really amazing. Did not skip a beat, made sure we had all we needed - even as guests dwindled each day grabbing available flights. We have been to the island several times....Grand Roatan a little more expensive but for us worth it....great food, pool, beach front, we had a two bedroom condo....just loved it. Have to especially call out Dennis, Fabio, Jimmy, Alvaro, and Chef Azar!!!! Food very good. Included breakfast awesome....not just pastries....eggs, bacon, fruit, omelettes to order, pancakes, etc! We love this island and this experience made us really appreciate the great people and beauty here. We will be back!!!!

I stayed in the Jr Suites, the "climb up the hill" was much less of a hill than I expected based on reviews. However, the paths are not what we are used to in the US; nowhere close to being ADA compliant, for example. The paths are sandy, there might be a root or two in the way, maybe a rock or two in the way, etc. Honestly, with significant mobility issues, I would not recommend even going to this island (my "test" I would recommend to a friend or family member would be: can you walk a mile on flat ground? and can you climb 3 flights of steps without using railings? if so, you're probably going to be fine, if not, skip going here and go to a US destination that is more accessible.) good luck!

We too stayed in a 3 bedroom suite. There was one room with a king bed & one with 2 doubles. Each of these rooms had an en-suite bathroom. The third room had a king bed & used the full bath in the hall. The rooms were large & had ample closet & drawer space. I know other 3 bedroom suites are equipped differently, just ask for the configuration you need, they are very accommodating.
