We created Ali & Sara's Desert Palace with the aim that our guests could experience the beautiful and natural setting of the desert, staying in clean & comfortable surroundings where the focus is relaxation and enjoyment, together with some safe adventure. Nestled well within the dunes, we're about an hour or so from Merzouga village by camel and 20-30 mins by 4x4. If preferred we can collect clients from around Morocco or if travelling independently we can greet you on your arrival in Merzouga village for you to enjoy light refreshments before setting off by the desert ship, the camel to your home for the night. Our aim is to remain as environmentally friendly as possible and lighting is by a combination of candle and solar power. We pump water from our own water well and guests can take hot water showers, with laundered towels and toiletries provided in a large dedicated bathroom which also houses a separate flush toilet. Dining is in under the stars or in our separate well furnished restaurant and food is freshly prepared to suit personal preference, served at a time to suit. We wake our guests to see sunrise although it's not obligatory and breakfast is served at a time to suit, there's no early morning rush or hurry on our part for our guests to depart. Our aim is for guests to have an exceptional and complete desert experience, we take great care of our clients and we pride ourselves on our service, always on hand, but unobtrusive.

One word. Magnificient. This review is long overdue but I still remember it like it was yesterday. The place and host was amazing. A chance to be under a blanket of stars and get to experience authentic desert life (with luxuries such as hot water and shower). Went for camel

It’s like a sensorial experience, the sand the sun and the freezing of the night... The accomodation was perfect the two rides with the camels at the sunset and the dawn an unforgettable souvenir. Thank you for this fantastic experience and professionality of the crew.

Hi Katharina - we stayed at the camp a week ago, and it was lovely. We ended up having to get in touch with Sara via WhatsApp. Their meeting place is Kasbah Le Berger, which is a hotel a bit south of the main Merzouga town area. If you can locate Kasbah Le Berger, you'll be able to find Sarah there.

Hello and thank you for your message. If you have booked to stay with us, your reservation is confirmed, there is absolutely no reason to be concerned about this. You should always receive further info and details of our meeting place, our aim is to have this info with guests at least 14 days before arrival. I'm very sorry for the delay in responding to emails, if anyone writes to us now with specific questions a response will be sent within 24 hours. Regards, Sara Ali & Sara's Desert Palace

Hi JimB271, I would not recommend that. That would be approx 10 hours of driving. One way, then another 9 hours to Fes. We did, Marrekesh to Seti Fatma, then made two more overnight stops before going into Ali’s. Maybe review your itinerary and try and add nights along the way. Also, to note, we enjoyed Fes more than Marrekesh; would have taken a night away from Marrekesh and added it elsewhere. Reply if you have more questions. I’m assuming you have a car?

Hello, thank you for your question. Our tents that would suit families are our Atta tribe tent with 2 king size beds or our Atta tribe tent with 3 double beds. Should you have further questions please don't hesitate to ask. Regards, Sara Ali & Sara's Desert Palace, erg Chebbi

Hello and thanks for your message. We think it's a good idea to stay with us for two nights (we would say that wouldn't we) if you can spare the time. We also understand that there's a lot to see, visit and experience throughout Morocco and sometimes itineraries don't allow for longer stays and journey times can be fairly slow. Many of our guests do stay for two or three nights taking a moment to relax and feel the desert, if staying for one night perhaps arrive early or depart later the next day if you can. If you have further questions or would like more info please don't hesitate to contact us Regards, Sara Ali & Sara's Desert Palace
