We just spent 3 days in Hotel Fonda Vela in a suite (Room 32). The room was wonderful. A king bed and a queen bed that were very comfortable, a nice bathroom with a tub/shower, a safe, and a sitting area. Get these rooms if you can! We were only 2, but the view, space, and all the wood were...

Hotel has an amazing view , staff was friendly and easy to communicate, rooms were very clean. We asked for two extra mattresses and blankets and we got for no extra charge. Breakfast was amazing with an omelette station. Nice trails to walk around , Jacuzzi and pool with amazing view. I would definitely recommend.

Very nice rooms, large, and comfortable. Located outside of town but not too far. Will need a car other wise $8 cab fare to town. Helpful staff and good restaurant and pool/jacuzzi area. Would definitely recommend to family or couple.

Be careful about thefts in that hotel. Our camera bag and charger cable were stolen both inside the room and on the bench just outside of our room. The hotel staff and director didn't care to talk to us and find a solution. They even said it was not their responsibility. Except from that the quality of the hotel was...

This hotel is very clean, but a little rustic. It has a cabin-like feel. The room ammenites were very simple and could probably use a little updating. But where it was lacking, the staff and restaurant definitely made up the difference. Wonderful Costa Rican hospitality here! Annd the resort grounds are just lush and beautiful!!

The hotel was built in the 1990's with beautiful traditional wood interiors, hung with the owner's own paintings, and loads of mahogany furniture. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, yet with all the traditional innkeeper's courtesies. There were not many other people there the first night, but there was no evidence that staff had been laid off, and we...

Stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a tour of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Unfortunately the weather on the trip was not great- Costa Rica having been hit by hurricaine Otto, therefore we weren't able to fully appreciate the beauty of locations and variety of wildlife. This hotel was in a quiet location about 15 mins drive...

We stayed at the Hotel Fonda Vela in late November 2016. The property of the hotel itself is beautiful, but we couldn't get past the dank, musty smell in the room. It's high time that the bed pillows were changed. In addition, the wifi was not working, and from reading other reviews, it seems as though it has not worked...
