We spent three nights at El Bosque and had a great time. The kid manning the front desk when we got there was extremely helpful to us, helping us find out information for non-hotel-related reservations. Their internet was great near the office and we were able to skype home with ease. The room was very spacious, the shower huge, and...

Our family of 4 stayed at El Bosque December 28th-30th, 2016. While the hotel itself is off the beaten path, it is very close to one of the top restaurants in the area and a bakery/restaurant as well. We loved the location because it was set in the forest a bit. The owners at desk were very pleasant- easy to...

Hi Z424, Thanks for your feedback. We piloted a new water pressure system this past Dec but it ended up breaking down some of the pipes... So we had to put that project on hold until the current high season is over but I sure aim to bring this topic again in May 2017. The idea is to have exc...

We stayed for a night and as enthusiastic bird & animal viewers mainly selected the hotel for the attractive forest area directly on the property as detailed in our guide book. We had checked in and then were rather shocked to be told that after 4:45 pm the forests on the property are reserved for external companies offering expensive night...

Hi Richard, Thanks for your honest feedback. Apologies for the issue with the WiFi. There are only four rooms in the hotel currectly without WiFi, and the provider is looking into this. Will get back to you when this is done. All other 21 rooms not only have a very steady WiFi but it's the fastest one in the area...

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to stay in Monteverde. It has a very secluded rain forest feel, but you can get a latte and find a small grocery and several good restaurants at the end of the driveway. Rooms are simple, but have comfortable beds, hot water, and WiFi. The staff were very accommodating and helpful with...

We stayed in a quintuple room for 2 nights. The room was basic but worked well for us as we really only needed a place to sleep as we were doing tours and exploring the area and had not planned on spending much time in the room except for sleeping. The hotel itself is a good 3 star hotel -...

My family and I stayed here for two nights while in Costa Rica. It is a simple and rustic hotel. Providing simple amenities, bed, table, lights, bathroom and small closet. The beds were not the comfiest but slept fine after being so tired after all the hikes we did. The bathroom was simple providing a small sink, a toilet and...

We stayed 2 nights at Hotel El Bosque. Admittedly, we were a little nervous hearing about how "simple" the accommodations were. However we were pleasantly surprised. Accommodations are definitely not luxury but they do the trick. The grounds are lovely and the included breakfast was decent. It was nice that they had their own trails where birds were easily spotted...

Hi Ashley, Thank you for your comment :) I'm glad you enjoyed the WiFi in your room. We are one of only 3 hotels in the area who have Optic Fiber connection which makes a huge difference (15 times faster than 95% of our competition). Cheers, Daniel Lalinde

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It is a simple place within a short walk of several places to eat to include a coffee and ice cream store. The property is home to a birds and other animals. Breakfast is a simple buffet with eggs, gallo pinto, juice, toast and a few other items. Taxis to town are...

Hotel description of "simple" is accurate. Staff is very friendly and helpful, location is great, rooms are adequate and clean but very simple. Smallest sink I've ever seen in a hotel. We did the on-site night hike and the guide was very good. Loved the nearby Whole Foods market for good wheat bread and cheese. Not a fan of the...

My family and I LOVED staying here at Hotel El Bosque. Since I'm currently living here in CR, I did all the trip planning for when my family came to visit me.
