Breakfast is appalling. Minimal choice, small quantities of each choice and re-stocked too slowly. Coffee and "hot" water for tea were both cold. Shuttle bus up to rooms at higher levels is scheduled to run up to 10:00 at night but stopped earlier than this. We had to walk up in the dark as a result. Staff were rude about...

Just back from a trip to Costa Rica. After reading previous reviews our group were nervous about staying at this hotel. The rooms were perfectly clean and spacious, the beds were deep and amazingly comfortable. Yes you have to walk up a number of steps to get to the cabin. But you are staying in the mountains so what does...

Only rating 1 as unable to rate a minus. To get to most accommodation you have to walk up a steep hill. Bus is suppose to be able to take you from accommodation to bottom of hill and back, but not always available. And if it is you will have to wait for it. It stops at 10.00 each night....

We had rooms at the top (5##) which gave magnificent views of rainbows arcing over Santa Elena but the path down to the sparse breakfast was so slippery as to be dangerous. One cracked wrist and no medical services to check for a fracture did not help the tour. On the wildlife side, it was amazing for a sun bittern...

It's a strange place and we were glad to leave. The accommodation consists of rooms in chalet-style blocks built on the side of a steep hillside. Such is the steepness that the hotel offers free shuttle service between the rooms and reception. Superficially it looks very attractive but our experience was cold and cheerless, So avoid room 407. The room...

After reading previous reviews I was a bit nervous about staying here, but it's perfectly fine. Weirdest rooms I've ever stayed in-huge and very brown but kept nice & clean with lovely linen Breakfast not great but adequate. Long way out of town but made up for by the views which are stunning

After reading the reviews here, I was very nervous to stay at this hotel, which was part of a tour package. First the good points:. Rooms and bathrooms are very large with plenty of closet space and a medicine cabinet in which to store your items. The grounds are nice and have a "lodge" feeling. The included breakfast was very...

Having read previous reviews, we were not looking forward to 2 nights in this hotel. However, our room was in the 200s so not too much of a climb! The beds were clean and comfortable although the pillows were very lumpy. Room huge. Coffee machine with coffee. No aircon or heating and it was very cold (in January). Bathroom also...

Our family of 4 was booked this hotel as part of an itinerary package. Location in town was nice. Hotel itself is very lacking. The grounds layout is terrible. The front desk and dining area is in a separate building which is a long distance (approx. 100 yards) from closest main lodging. The walk is a steep decline/ incline to...

This was the worst hotel we stayed at on our tour of Costa Rica. The bedrooms are huge, I suppose they have to be cause the beds are massive! The bathroom was small, with nowhere to put your stuff and while under a hot shower it suddenly went to cold !! The meals were edible, but to get to them...
