Let’s start with the positives. The walk from the reception area to the pool is very nice, wonderful views over to Kos. The garden area is beautiful and very well looked after. The negatives. Room not cleaned. No bottled water, no loo rolls, no sweeping of floors, no sinks or shower rinsed or cleaned throughout our 10 night stay. No bins around the pool area. Paper cups, spa flyers, straws and cans blowing away in the slightest breeze, despite trying to secure them down. The entertainment was no poor to existent. The entertainment guy would make himself know to any new female under 20, which was amusing to watch. One day I heard one of the girls bragging with her friends how he stole their phones and was making reviews on their trip advisor account (you can clearly see the reviews posted by him on these girls accounts on here) Food. Dull. I lost interest. Breakfast, I stuck with toast. Lunch, I lost interest and had salads. Dinner. Pretty much the same as lunch. Rooms. Tired and tatty. If only they would spend as much time and attention to the rooms as they do on the gardens. My daughter unfortunately became very poorly on our 4th night with a bacterial infection. At 1 am I went to reception to ask for a Dr via google translate. After a few phone calls we were collected from reception by a local clinics driver. I explained my daughter was too weak to walk down stairs (she’s 13 and I was on my own) as she kept on passing out in our room. I had no help whatsoever from the staff in the hotel to get her into the car. We ended up staying in the clinic overnight with I.V drips for dehydration and tests. We were then transferred to the American hospital in Bodrum the following morning as her test results came back 1st thing. She was much more poorly than 1st thought. Transferred by ambulance and subsequently IV drips of antibiotics, fluids, anti sickness and paracetamol. Another nights stay for us. During the 2 nights away, our room had not been cleaned. My daughter had been sick on the bed. I tried cleaning it up the night we left for the clinic. Stripped the bed and put the soiled sheets outside of the door. I then went to reception to ask for sheets etc. The female housekeeper came up with one blanket! She noticed that there was vomit on the sheets and refused to pick them up (which I understand) but what I don’t excuse is her shouting at me to “please please hurry”. There was vomit on the floor, I had no bag or tissues to clean it up. She refused to get me the help I needed. I did the best I could at the time. I found a nappy sack and some tissues I had and left it outside of my door. It was still there 2 days later. The floor should have e been mopped at the very least! 2 days that room hadn’t been cleaned, the whole time we were in hospital. The toilet, the mattress was soaked in vomit due to no mattress protection and just a sheet. On our return from the hospital to the “hotel” (I use that term loosely) we had no contact/follow up from anyone/guest relations/manager at Charm Beach. I felt we were very much on our own. It appeared they didn’t care at all. The girl on reception could not speak a word of English. I understood we were in Turkey. But. If you have a British tour operator like Easy Jet sending holiday makers from the UK you should at least have someone on reception with at least a small amount of knowledge of the English language. It makes things very difficult when you have to ask for simple things like towels, loo rolls and water. Especially so in emergency situations. Lastly. Recommendations … if you are staying here : / Not in the hotel grounds but I highly recommend Fener Restaurant. A 10 minute walk along the beach by the lighthouse is an amazing restaurant with fresh fish, great wine, fantastic views, very welcoming and friendly. A welcomed relaxing, the most enjoyable tasty meal of the whole holiday. Sadly we found it on our last day. Take a trip to Bodrum town!

The hotel itself was quite nice the staff were polite and the dining staff were always really helpful. The hotel had at least one dog as a pet (although we saw 2 IN the hotel during out week stay). There were also at least 3 cats, not sure of they were pets or strays. The animals roamed through the hotel, sitting in chairs, strolling through the dining area and by the pool. We had an a double room, upstairs and downstairs. The stairs were metallic and they were quite Steep. The carpet that covered the stepping part was quite dusty. I left a sign for our room to be cleaned on our 2nd day and all that happened was they changed the bins nobody had actually swept the floor and it was actually quite dusty from where we have been to the beach and stepped on some sand. On our second night there there was a power cut at around 8pm. I had to go downstairs with my two under fives to let them know. They fixed it and we came back upstairs and then about 3 hours later when I was in the shower there was another Power cut. obviously this time I couldn't go downstairs because I my two small children who were asleep at the time I'm off to about 20 minutes the power came back on. The following morning we went down to breakfast around 9:00 and we came back to the room around 10:00 again there was no power. Again, I left the sign for the room to be cleaned and just the bins were changed, the rubbish made from the room repairs hadn't been swept. None of the bedding was changed during our weeks stay. They had a mini club for kids which was a room with a variety of activity bits, colouring, crafts, playdough, duplo, balloons, games and an outside space (my boys used this to play football daily) which had plastic tables and chairs however the floor was lose tiles which was dangerous. The beach was lovely. Plenty of space. Nice and clean. There was no shortage of bars to get beverages from. The food was very random. Chips for breakfast and all the cake based desserts were drenched in some sort of syrup. There were very loud Prayers from the Mosque around 5am and 9pm daily.

This is a detailed review so that you get a good understanding of the holiday! I will say all the pros and cons. When we arrived we were greeted by two young women. Due to language barriers, it took a while to check in but we went and had some lunch while they sorted the room. Rooms are decent and okay but could do with sprucing up but we only paid £500 for a week all inclusive so for the money it is good value. The goods: The best part is the staff. They are extremely helpful. Getting drinks for you before you have to ask, always asking if you would like something, always cleaning. We did tip them a lot of the time as they are so hard working. The onsite beach and pools are clean and lovely. The beach has sun beds, well maintained and cleaned daily. Beds to lay on and have a nap. And a beach bar. The bar on the beach has a bartender who is so kind and helpful. The alcohol is nice and they try their hardest to make you what you want even though there is a language barrier. The main soft drinks are Pepsi, Pepsi Zero, 7up and a version of Fanta. Coke and Coke Zero are not included with the all inclusive. 8 cocktails to choose from along with spirits and wine. The pool is a relaxing place with tables, chairs and loungers (reserve them as there is not many). The pool is nice but absolutely freezing cold as it is not heated. Although it did warm up throughout the end of our stay. Animals: personally, we loved the hotels animals. They are kind and are part of the hotel and they will come up to you and want attention. Hotel: it is a stylish hotel and you can have a drink in the lobby and play pool or go read a book by the entrance. Drinks: very strong drinks and have a good selection. Soft drinks are nice and are branded which is unusual for all inclusive. Branded alcohol is also included like baileys. The cons: On our last night a massive fight broke out between all the staff where they all punched and attacked another member of staff. Went on for a while until it was broke up. Not exactly a relaxing evening as all we could hear from our balcony was over 10 members of staff screaming and one man on the floor where he had been punched in the head. Very awkward evening as all the staff were upset and were on their phones talking to people trying to sort the incident out. Like I say, tipping is optional but we did as the barman was extremely attentive but when I went to get a drink, another member of staff reached and grabbed most of the tip money and pocketed it. Another staff member noticed it and an argument started. We reported it to the staff at the office and they said they would sort it out. Food: the breakfast is the worst part of the food here at charm beach. The bread is beautiful and is fresh and lovely and they have a range of options but understandably they don’t carter to English taste. There is a lot of salad and chips and cheese at breakfast. The patisserie has cakes but not very nice. The lunch is the best option. Lots of options and overall very nice. However, I would recommend getting lunch at the snack bar where there are 6 options to choose from and they taste really nice (burgers, pasta, meatballs…). I would suggest filling up on lunch at 12:30 at the snack bar and going to the snack bar again at 5 before it closes so that way you have had some dinner in case the buffet dinner isn’t to your liking. Dinner got better as the week went on. When we arrived it was a lot of salad and meat in sauces. Then, the dinner started to have kebab and roasted chickens and rice. Despite what the reviews say the alcohol is definitely not watered down and they are very generous with their units. The rooms only got cleaned 3 times while we stayed which meant we had to keep asking for towels and toilet roll. The worst part is the coffee machine. Personally my family drink coffee not stop and the coffee is bitter and undrinkable. However the pattiseri coffee is okay. If I’m being honest we would definitely return for the right price and it is a lovely traditional Turkish place to stay if you want a budget holiday. It just needs a few tweaks with the food but don’t believe all the reviews you read as it was a lovely friendly stay. Entertainment: live music but was very poor and the discos and bingo and parties didn’t happen. Also: Due to the location being so close to the mosque the prayer calls will wake you up at 5am and does last up to 10 minutes and can shock you if you didn’t know about them as they are extremely loud.

The hotel was very clean, right on the beach and pool was lovely. Unfortunately the food was awful, no taste and not a great variety. There is not enough seating and you spend a good 20 minutes trying to find a table and that’s in April! The rooms were ok, needs an upgrade. Hornets nest on the patio, ants and tons of them in the room, broken handle on patio door and this was not dealt with by hotel staff. Room was not cleaned every day which didn’t help with ant situation and toilet roll not replaced. There is nothing outside of the hotel. Insufficient sun loungers around the pool. I would not rate the hotel as a 4 star. Mosque opposite hotel and morning prayers at 5 am every day. I would not recommend this hotel and would not return.

Review based on recent experience, with the hope that the hotel can improve on their business. 1. Check-in: We arrived late afternoon only to find that the rooms were not ready. It took up to 4 hours for them to check us into our rooms and even then we found a broken door, missing towels (room clearly booked for three people, with two towels, phone not working in the room so we had to trek down to reception each time to ask for items missing - toilet roll, bed covers, tea cups, etc). It would be beneficial to anticipate guest needs when you can see how many guests are coming and to refill basic items daily. It is not too much to ask! 2. Food: first day the food was not great! At all and the kids went to bed nearly hungry. It was good to see that the food improved greatly from day two and we had better variety. The staff in the restaurant were very attentive and responsive to all our requests. 3. Internet: not so great and kept switching off. You have to switch the phone on and off several times to log back in to their wifi. 4. Activities/entertainment: there is hardly anything in terms of entertainment. One has to get creative to either leave the hotel to find their own activities. There isn't much for children/youth to do other than jetski, swim. There is a basket ball pitch. There is a pool table (needs relocating because you can hardly It would be beneficial if the hotel team take time to put a list of activities, locations, travel , etc in the area so that guests have more information when they arrive. 5.Cleanliness: not so great overall, please improve! much as guests try to clean up after themselves, there was litter around the beach seats. Also after rooms are 'cleaned' you find bed linen not changed. One bed had a duvet cover as the bedsheet and not changed from day 1 to departure. 6. Jan at reception was very nice, approachable and most helpful. Thank you. The concept is good, but really lacking in refining to make better.

We just came back from Cham Hotel / April . The weather wasn't that great but was sunny, at least . Food is not much of a selection, especially for breakfast. If you a fussy eater you ll struggle. The staff ,reception are great ,polite and friendly but not many of them speak English so could be a difficult to communicate, but they always find the way ! Great people !!! The drinks were not nice at all nobody knew how to make a proper cocktails! Wine and beer not good either! When we came was very quiet so maybe when is full season everything will be much better ,who knows . The most unpleasant were the bathrooms ,very old ,most of the toilets were blocked and couse flooding. I ll rate this hotel not more than ** starts !!! They need to put lots of money for refurbishment . Also they need to change the night manager very grumpy man ! Not pleasant at all ! Bodrum Town is lovely, nice to visit or have a ferry trip to Kos / Greece .

The hotel is quirky, it is an hour from the airport and 40 minutes from bodrum city centre and marina. The hotel has great views however the food options let it down. There was no entertainment for children, or kids clubs during our stay, and no food options for children. The staff really make the hotel, Sercan was the best host, he really needs a pay rise. He made our stay memorable, as I was nearly going to change hotels. Mohammed and Irfan are also great. The spa is good however not sure about the bubble treatment as this affected our eyes and it seemed as they were using cheap fairy liquid. Aisha is very nice who books the spa treatments. The snack bar in between lunch and dinner is better than breakfast or lunch or dinner. My kids enjoyed the food here. We also had some lovely watermelon drinks on arrival which was a nice touch. The female ladies on reception are rude and do not speak English, instead they pass you their phone to translate on Google. Why have them in reception if they can’t communicate with guests? None of the rooms have baths! Which was a major downfall for me travelling with children. We had to change room 3 times to find a clean and comfortable room. The first room was out of date, old dirty and nothing worked. The second room didn’t lock and the shower head broke, the third room was sufficient however the fridge and kettle did not work. The views are amazing from the hotel, it is right on the beachfront. The hotel has so much potential I think they just need to offer more food variety and children’s activities as advertised. I would say this is a 3 star establishment at a push, and the staff really make it what it is. The manager was also very helpful and gave us a special dinner one night to make up for all the bothers we had regarding the rooms. Not so much a dinner, they just put a nice tablecloth and flowers on the evening table. Definitely book if you wish to try a quirky cheap and cheerful hotel. Don’t book if you have a fear of cats or dogs as they are all over the place at the hotel lol.
