Little Moon Villa is a great place to go. It's intimate and after a few days you know all the faces of the staff and everyone is extremely friendly. Every day the houses are cleaned up, new towels, beds are made. Choice at breakfast is really delicious, they also have croissants or other such things that you can order extra (for a small fee). We rented the scooter from the hotel every day to make trips around the island. At the end of the afternoon we came back to the hotel for diner. The food is very tasty! I could easily stay here for 3 weeks. The houses are clean, the bed is very good. The view when you wake up in the morning is amazing and gives so much peace. We were woken up very early every morning by the light because the upper part of the glass has no curtains. We didn't find this a problem at all because you wake up in a very natural way. It was actually very nice! Because the resort is still so new, it still has some small things that need to be finished. You can also see that here and there in the houses. Because it is such a small island, we have mainly been on an adventure to other places. We have not been on the beach at the hotel because the type of beach is not the most beautiful on the island. But you are already at other beautiful beaches with 7min scooter. It is simply a great beautiful place, Jill who helped us every day was really sweet. If we ever come back I only want to go to this place on koh mak!!

We didn’t actually stay here but visited for food and I wish I had chosen here from my short list instead of the place we ended up in , to be honest I was so upset we didn’t . The place is gorgeous and new and very stylish . The food was delicious and the villas from the outside looked lovely with sprawling gardens and a clean pretty beach . If we return to Ko Mak we will be absolutely staying here

We booked a black moon villa for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon and before attending the Wonderfruit Festival. What can I say? First, the location is fabulous, right on a very quiet beach. The resort is modern and stylish but totally in keeping with the surroundings. Jill and the team are incredibly friendly and helpful. However the jewel in the crown is the restaurant! This was my third trip to Thailand and I can honestly say the food at Little Moon Villas is absolutely incredible, so much so we ate there three times a day, every day! The only downside was that the bed in the black moon villa wasn’t so comfortable. We loved Little Moon so much that we extended our honeymoon and returned for another 3 nights after the festival. This time we booked a half moon villa and it was worth paying a little extra as the bed was more comfortable. Thank you to Jill and the team for making both stays so special and we wish you continued success and will be back to visit again soon!

We are a couple and have stayed here for five days with our 2 year old child. Everything was well organized and just perfect. Also the food was TOP class - try their Pad Cha. 2nd beach (Laem Son) was just 5 walking minutes away. Thanks again, Jill!

Beautiful resort on a beautiful island. Food is very good, lots to choose from and plenty of vegetarian dishes. The background music and view of the restaurant instantly transports you to a genuine paradise. Beach is clean, well maintained and plenty of quiet corners with swings or hammocks. Free kayaks and transport from and to the resort. It's a bit more remote, but the island is so tiny you can easily get around by motorbike or bycicle.

The welcome was really friendly, the staff is very kind and helpfull. One of the best we’ve experienced in 3 weeks of Thailand. The villa was spacious and clean. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend this place!! P.S. You will need a scooter if you stay here because it is a little bit remote. You can arrange a scooter in the resort. This service was also really well arranged.

We booked 5 nights in this nice little resort but stayed 8 nights. If you look for a quite place and nice comfy bungalow this is your place. They only have 11 bungalows. We had sea view but the ones a bit futher back look at the sea aswell. The beach is nice although is not a white beach. You need transport because its far out but its only a small island. It takes you 20 minutes to the other side with a scooter. Its great to drive around the island. The restaurant is good. But we went out a couple of nights and even in the dark is good to drive back. The food in the restaurant is nice, they also serve nice coffee. I booked twice a massage and the lady was very good. The staff is friendly. We can really recommend this little resort. Koh Mak is a nice relaxing island. If you after night life you won't find it there but there are some nice spots you can have a nice beer. It has a very nice vibe. A pity we had to leave. Lets hope the island will stay like this.

Honestly, the people and location are lovely; but it’s a risk for you so please, please think before you book. I’m a British medical doctor who loves Thailand and it’s people. I really don’t like to complain. I have posted below my review on booking.com but feel it is my duty to try in prevent further tragedy. They use ceramic / glass flooring outside. It rains a lot so is likely to get wet. When wet it is frequent for people to slip at this resort. My beautiful girlfriend sustained a very serious injury and needs an operation. It sound exaggerated and emotive but I am a risk taker having recently return from India where I used a motorbike. This place is a genuine danger and I implore the owners to change the flooring.

First impressions weren’t great our family room was very much at the far end of the property New building ongoing beside our house with lots of rubbish about, our beach side setting was very disappointing mangroves and rocks so no access to the beach in front . the water was murky no chance of snorkelling here :(. Eight sun loungers for the whole resort. The villa was pretty although the shower was cold every day :( On the plus side the staff were lovely and the food delicious, my son stood on a sea urchin and they we so helpful to us with that. With a little attention this place could be so much better I guess for the money we paid it was of adequate standard but not luxurious.

My partner and I enjoyed every single second, and I can recommend the Little Moon Villa Resort a 110% to everybody who, like us, is seeking for a quiet place to relax on Koh Mak, far away of tourist crowds, "buy one get one free cocktail" and, luckily, also far away of sand flies! I'd like to start with the most amazing staff and the best service we may ever have experienced in a hotel! Everybody in the team was so welcoming and friendly! They made the (almost) impossible possible and arranged everything we needed - no matter if a boat ticket, motor bikes or a wonderful Thai Massage by the sea (thanks also to the wonderful massage team!). They always had a warm smile for everybody, remembered every detail of our requests, asked e.g. how our snorkeling was when we came back in the late afternoon (we had only mentioned this en passant in the morning), and it seemed like it was not only "service", but that they really liked what they were doing, and cared about you. We felt almost "pampered" - thank you so much, Little Moon Villa team! Then, the location - It's maybe one of the most "secluded" hotels on Koh Mak, so one needs to be prepared to rent a scooter or bike, walk quite a distance, or simply take the hotel's transport (50baht), to get to the next restaurants or to other beaches. But we were exactly searching for that. It was perfectly quiet, after 21pm, all was dark and we could listen to the sound of birds and waves as a lullaby - no noise or light pollution. Heavenly! The hotel is built at a little bay with reddish sand (no "white-beach-selfies possible, ok - but for that, see "transport"), which the staff keeps perfectly clean. One can relax in hammocks or on the provided beach loungers, and there's kayaks, paddles and life vests for free, if you fancy a bit of exercise and discovering e.g. Koh Kradat or the next beaches. The hotel complex consists of a main building with a tastefully constructed and nicely decorated wooden restaurant with sea view, and the small "houses" of the three categories "Full Moon Villas" (bigger, first line to the sea), "Half Moon Villas" (2pax, still with fantastic sea view) and "Black Moon Villas" (2 pax, third row). All is lush and green, and the hotel has got its own vegetable and spice garden - so much of the meals' ingredients are organic and fresh as can be! The accommodation (we stayed in a "Half Moon Villa") is very pretty, and, as all in the hotel, nicely decorated. One notices that the whole complex was designed by a person with a good taste for architecture and design. It has a spacious, well-lit bedroom, a big and modern bathroom, and on the veranda in the front, there's a "lounge deck" with nice cushions to chill. A good mattress and comfortable cushions (an exception during our Thailand travels!), plus the quiet nights, guarantee a good sleep. Everything is spotlessly clean, there's room service every 2nd day, with towels changed. There's really nothing I would have wanted to improve! And last, but definitely not least, the food! I admit we came to Thailand also because of the wonderful cuisine - and not a single dish served in Little Moon Villa could have been cooked better in my eyes. We tried some other restaurants on the island, but none of them managed to fulfil our wishes a 100%. In Little Moon Villa, the cooks know what they do, have a sense for the right balance of spices and the use of very fresh ingredients, and each dish leaves the kitchen beautifully decorated. Seafood, tofu dishes, Tom Kah soup, many vegetarian options, great fruit juices and shakes... I feel sad because of all the dishes we could not try because we only stayed 5 nights... Great compliment to the chefs - aroy maak! And all to surprisingly reasonable prices - and excellent price-quality-ratio! To sum it up, it was the perfect place for us on the island, and we hope we can come back at some point. Kop khun kah, Little Moon Villa team!
