My husband and I always stop at La Traverse on our drive back through France to the UK. We reserved a room and stopped off on the 10th September and arrived at 15:30. As ever Neil and Mel are the perfect hosts. We had coffee in the beautiful gardens and relaxed and then made our way to our room to...

There is a sign in the entrance hall that reads "arrive as guests, leave as friends" -how very true! Mel and Neil are perfect hosts who go out of their way to ensure guests have wonderful time and feel truly spoilt. Nothing is too much trouble. The setting is beautiful and the food divine!

The beautiful setting, delightful house and charming hosts, Melanie and Neil, combine to make La Traverse a wonderful spot from which to see the Haute-Vienne region or as a relaxing stop off on a journey through France. Arriving after a short early evening drive from Limoges airport, Melanie and Neil greeted us warmly and gave a brief tour of the...

Stayed at La Traverse, Neil and Melanie couldn't be more welcoming. A lovely room, great food and they were very accommodating about our dog. Easy to find from the autoroute / motorway. Highly recommended. We will definitely be staying again...

What a great choice! We stayed at La Traverse which acted as our base whilst we went back and forward to our newly purchased renovation project. Melanie and Neil were just the best hosts you could wish for. They gave us lots of tips about living in France and even printed off some photos for us. Melanie's food is varied...

We spent a night here on our way down to the South of France. The stay and the service were far better than that offered by any bigger hotel that we have stayed in. The house is gorgeous - full of character and tasteful decor - and the garden is stunning. We were given a warm welcome by Neil and...

I'm unsure why this hotel is labeled B & B we stayed there when we were buying our house nearby and Neil & Melanie served the most excellent food. We now go back whenever we can for an evening out with friends, family and Neil & Melanie.

We were fortunate enough to visit this hotel for the second time. This time we took two friends with us who immediately loved it too. Neil and Melanie once again excelled in their hospitality and friendliness and made us all feel like we had come home! Melanie's cooking is just fantastic. The most delicious meals were served each evening -...

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and relaxed. Neil and Melanie were very welcoming. The house is very clean and is stunning. The bedroom was large and once we had unpacked Neil kindly offered us tea and coffee in the lounge. I highly recommend having dinner , Melanie is a genius in the kitchen and prepares amazing...

La Traverse is a gem of a find, close enough to motorway and a beautiful restored old house, well cared for and well maintained. The hosts offer a personal service, a preliminary email to check on specific dietary requirements, a real boon for allergy sufferers, and the meal is tailored to this. The room was excellent, period, with an amazing...
