I have stayed at the hotel several times and it just gets better. The staff are excellent as is the food and wine. The building is breathtaking and has to be seen to be believed. The suites are worth the extra money. You can take walks in the parklands and have tea in the rose garden which is also a garden centre. It’s a great base when visiting the Northeast.

We stayed in the Vane Tempest Suite overlooking the lake, gorgeous room. Across the weekend we ate in the wellington restaurant, accessed the spa and had afternoon tea. Service was at the usual high standards and we really enjoyed every part of our stay. We love that because of the large spaces in the hotel you can hardly tell the difference with COVID restrictions in place and still feel safe! Lovely weekend away in all of this chaos, thank you for a another great stay.

An absolute jaw dropping beauty of a place. We visited for an overnight birthday treat plus afternoon tea, where food and presentation were both superb. (However, breakfast is currently being served continental style in your room re-Covid restrictions - but did not spoil the visit) Staff were first class throughout and could not have been more accommodating or informative. A very much appreciated 'Prosecco on ice' and birthday greeting card awaited us in our 'room with a view' the utterly wonderful - Duke of Wellington Suite (circular, spacious and grand). The hotel is situated in a vast, tranquil country estate with picturesque riverside setting and the building itself is both gigantic and highly dramatic in appearance. Internally, it has wondrous opulent, no expense spared attention to detail everywhere you turn, and even if historic grandeur on an epic scale is not really your thing, it just might be after visiting Wynyard Hall - Somewhere very special with the "WOW" factor in abundance. Respect to Sir John Hall for resurrecting (and hopefully preserving for many future generations) this rare northern jewel.

Last minute decision to treat my wife to afternoon tea here. The food was superb. My wife had the traditional afternoon tea and I had the gents one. The price on the menu was £24.50 and £27.50 respectively. The total came to £46.80 so we got a 10% discount which to be honest taking into account the stunning surroundings and the wonderful food was a bargain. The lovely staff supplied us with more tea and hot water and no extra cost. It gave me and idea to give vouchers for here at Christmas! Thank you so much!
