Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Seeing the front of Nº19 building took me aback, I have to admit; but after entering the building I was delighted. Our room appeared freshly decorated, it was scrupulously clean and comfortable. We slept well and enjoyed a good full breakfast promptly at 07:30 next morning, ready to be on our way. I would happily book to stay there again in future, and I readily recommend Nº19 as a very good guest house indeed.

Such a lovely little guesthouse not to far away from lake Windermere. Clean and comfortable for the price you pay although I felt our mattress and pillows weren’t to great ( Windermere room) the room however was lovely, spacey and equipped with an iron, hairdryer and a kettle with tea & coffees and a lovely bathroom with shower. When you read the reviews about staying in places your always read how good or bad breakfast were, well number 19 definitely serves a lovely , tasty breakfast, which was 10/10 and the host was full of lo cal knowledge so that we could plan our day. Would recommend staying here, great value for money

What a little gem this place is. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in room was spacious for us and our two children with a great sized bathroom. We stayed for two nights and as we were travelling from Glasgow after work we were later than the 7pm check in but where left clear communication on how to access our room. We were greeted by Sophie and Luke in the morning for a massive full English breakfast which was amazing. Sophie was so knowledgeable about the local area and recommended places for us to visit and eat. The location of the guest house was ideal for the zoo and beaches and we were minutes walk from local restaurants and takeaways. Room was equipt with tea/coffee facilities and towels were a brilliant size couldn't fault anything and would definitely return

Just come back from a 2 night stay with my husband and 2 children at Number 19. Would highly recommend! Luke and Sophie are fantastic hosts, warm, welcoming and had so much helpful advice about the area. Breakfast was delicious! Stayed in the Derwent Water room, perfect for families, really comfy. Will definitely be back to stay again!

This guesthouse was truly a fab find! It is an ideal location to explore lots of the Lake District. We chose it for its close proximity to the zoo as we hadn't been before. We had the Derwent water room and it was big enough for a family of 4 with small children. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. If I was being REALLY picky about the rooms I'd just say a little bit of dusting and a lick of paint but this didn't affect our experience there. The hosts are what made our stay super special. They really do make the effort to ensure you enjoy your stay here. Stupidly we got locked out on one day (totally our fault) and they were willing to drive over half an hour to help us, luckily it didn't come to that. They are such nice people and had lots of helpful tips on what to see/do in the local area. Their breakfasts were delightful, we all enjoyed them and ate most of it. They work incredibly hard to make all the breakfasts for all different dietary types. We hope we are lucky enough to visit again in the future. Would highly recommend.
