Tayrona Tented Lodge is an oceanfront ecolodge on Colombia's Caribbean coast next to the world famous Tayrona national park. The hotel is located in a palm tree covered beach nestled between the Sierra Nevada and the sea. The area's weather is comfortable all year round, combining the warm temperatures of the tropics with the mild humidity and cooling breeze from the mountains. Ecotents are fully equipped, each with a private bathroom and ocean views. Each ecotent can accommodate up to 3 people. Our ecotents are designed to provide you with the comfort of a city hotel in the middle of beautiful natural surroundings. Explore the area at day and come back revitalised to a double bed and a room with all the amenities to make yours a relaxing stay. The hotel's design integrates seamlessly with the environment. We operate with a focus on sustainability and low impact to our natural surroundings: The lodge is powered by solar energy and makes use of a system of rainwater collection. Our food is locally sourced, prepared by our chef on a daily basis and served communally on our double tiered deck with views of the sea.

This place was amazing and so relaxing. The cabañas are the perfect size to stay with a couple or small family. You wake up hearing the waves of the ocean. The personal are very helpful and make sure you’re comfortable and having a good time. The place does not have strong internet connection nor a heavy social environment but there are many hostels nearby walking distance that you can go to for WiFi/ bar / and social vibes. This is the perfect place to just relax &&& ALL meals are included! Can’t beat the quality for the price. 100% recommend.

A really nice place on the beach. The food is nice and the location is awesome. The bungalows are a bit old and would need a bit more love. A bad point for the contact by phone and the lack of customer services..

We are a couple who wanted to go in a quiet and lovely place for a few days after a lot of activities... Our stay at Tayrona Tented Lodge was very disapointing. Of course, the beach view is nice and you can walk on the beach as long as you like. They offer 3 meals per day, which were okay, sometimes more flavourfull than others. But they don't serve you any desert, neither of any fruit in the morning! For a hotel in Colombia, that is quite weird... mangos are growing not far from there. The water quality is a real problem. Even though they told us not to drink it, the shower and the tooth brushing was enough to make us sick! The water stinks and is not clear at all. They sell small bottles of water at reception, but at the end, it is quite expansive for a few days. At least, they could give one bottle of water to every person per day! The cabins are very basic. No decoration, which create a uninviting environnment. There are no hangers in the cabin! So you cannot hang your wet clothes after a hot day, the beach or a hike in Tayrona Park. Another big problem is the breakfast hours : it begins at 8am, so you are doomed if you want to go to Tayrona Park at the opening. You will have to wait or skip the breakfast. Except the hammocks area, there is nothing to do there and it is surrounded by other hotels with pools, ping pong tables, etc. NO WIFI! You will have to go in a hotel closed to Tayrona Tented Lodge, but the reception don't tell you that you can go there...

I had an amazing experience at Tayrona Tented Lodge. The place is really cozy and the staff is great. We walked to the river which is near to the hotel and it was a great plan and we also eat the fried fish which was delicios.

If you don't know what you want to do with your life, your work, or your relationship, this is a good place to find your answers to. It's a peaceful place with a beautiful beach, good meals and plenty of fun hostels around where you can meet new people, have drinks and even find love (even if it's short-one - but still counts). There are no billboards, no highway distractions, and the environment is extremely calm enough to find the answers you're looking for. Highly recommend it as an escape to re-charge those batteries, wasted in the city lifestyle. It's an eco-hotel all-inclusive place, so expect breakfast, lunch, and dinner ready, at certain times of the day. Food is very good and pretty much "made by mom" kind of deal. The room has no TV, it's eco-friendly, so don't expect to get distracted by any of that. It gets very chilly in the night-time, so I recommend to take a sweater if you're like me, easy on the low temps. Take time for yourself in the day. Meet new people at night. There are dinners around from other hostels if you want to treat yourself any other day of the month. And remember, have fun and enjoy your life-time. If you don't, I'm sure this place will make it for ya. Cheers, and thank you.

Beautiful place, I really recommended everybody at least once in their life to get to experience staying at a place like this. It’s a place where you can find yourself and get some real rest, It’s a place for anybody that it’s looking for peace, good food and a kind staff…but if you are looking at a resort with tv and mini fridge and some chaos,I would recommend to look for something else, because peace and beauty it’s what defines this place. I really recommend to look at the stars at night! (in the pure night when the moon shines extremely bright) they are some magical nights that you feel all with yourself and nature (I know it sounds funny but trust me, do it!) and if you can build a campfire, I REALLY recommend it. I hope to be able to come back to this place next year, in the mean time I’ll try to enjoy the chaos that we surround ourselves with( yeah I think this place really messed me up in good way hahaha)

My photocamera was stolen during the daily cleaning. It was not possible to put it into the safe, because the camera was bigger than the safe, so the camera was in the drawer of the plastic commode. And it is written on the wall with big letters that the hotel is not responsible for anything… And they didn't want to help me even with completing a report, so my insurance can not pay anything for me. On the other hand: you can swim in the sea here only max. 2 days in 3 month, because of the strong currents. So you can not do anything here, except for taking an excursion in the Tayrona Park (whilst your lodge will be robbed…). Absolutely not recommended place!!!

I stayed here for two nights. The tents/rooms are in a horseshoe looking out onto the beach. Finding the place was a bit of issue as it didn't appear to be signposted. But with a bit of luck and guess work I found it. The manager was friendly, really helpful and made you feel really welcome. The rooms are extremely basic, with a bed a fan and a bathroom attached. Now before you book. Realise that electricity is on from 8pm till 8am. So you'll have to preserve the life of your phone or laptop. Now there's a sign right next to the sliding doors asking you to lock up when you leave. Believe me this is a little pointless as my key never seemed to work. When it did and I thought it was locked. All you had to do is lift the door and it's easily opened. So it makes locking it completely redundant. For my meals I went to the hostel next door which was ok for food. I did have one breakfast, but it was very basic and minimal. But it's location is great and being right on the beach is so cool.

Tayrona Tented Lodge was the most expensive place my wife and I stayed at during 3 weeks traveling in the Santa Marta/Minca area. Sovjet-style food, usually pasta with tomato sauce or rice with 10 percent vegetables served with ketchup (nothing else). No salad or desert was offered. Portion sizes were tiny and when we asked for more food there either was none or the chef scrambled to serve us plain pasta or rice. Low-quality breakfast with this exact content: two 3-centimeter mini-arepas, one piece of toasted bread cut in half, two fried or scrambled eggs, one plastic package each of marmelad and butter and watery coffee of which we were never offered a refill. We went to nearby hostels for free water refills, free good-quality coffee, WiFi and a more welcoming atmosphere. (While drinking water was free at nearby hostels, the lodge, which markets itself as an eco lodge, charge 2000 COP for a small plastic water bottle). The staff was inattentive to our modest needs (such as an extra towel small towel one day) and explained that he did not have the authority to bring up our repeated complaints with his managers, nor did a manager show up at the place during our 6-night stay. The management has not yet responded to our official complaint, however friends staying at the lodge received an aggressive phone call in response to their complaint, prompting our friends to hang up. My wife and I have traveled extensively and we rarely write reviews, but found Tayrona Tented Lodge to be so unwelcoming and overpriced that we wanted to issue a warning. There are several cheaper alternatives within 500 meters walking distance where you will have a much better overall experience.
