We were looking for a small hotel with a swimming pool, within easy reach (Maximum 1 hour drive) of the lavender growing areas near Gordes, The Camargue and the cities of Arles and Avignon and La Bastide de Boulbon fitted the bill perfectly. We stayed...More
We had a lovely five nights at La Bastide de Boulbon but I have to say it's not what I expected from the previous reviews.

First and foremost we’d like to thank you for the good comments you wrote down.
Nevertheless I want to give you our reasoning behind the ‘minors’ you have written about.
* The charge of 3 Euros per pool towel and 8 euros per bathrobe:
The above should not be taken negatively: the welcome, the care and the friendly owners will make many other 3 star hotels jealous in that part of the world. Yes indeed there is no hiding since there are hardly 10 rooms. Rooms are clean, tasteful...More

Yes there are shower heads but they are low about waist high. As far as the differences in the rooms I can only comment on second and third floor and we stayed in rooms facing the garden. The only difference was the size of the windows. But I'm sure if you are not facing the garden the rooms would be much warmer as we had a great breeze at night. There is air conditioning and it works very well.
