We had the chance to stay 3 nights in the Bush suite at Africats, which was a real treat. Perhaps not to everyone's liking since it is away from the main camp but for us it's private location made us feel totally free and as though we were the guardians of this beautiful home. Wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms with blissful... More

We camped out in one of the four campsites and loved every bit of it. The campsites are vast and very private. Each campsite has a kitchen with a sink (under a roof) and an area to cook and eat. There is a separate area to pitch tents. The toilets and showers have no doors, but face the wilderness and... More

I stayed 1 night at the bush camp, and had a stellar experience. This was my final night of a 2 week trip arpund the country, and it was my luxury/splurge experience. Al the staff were friendly and accomodating. The entire property was beautiful, and well designed. The only mild disapointment was the food. While it was obvious that they... More

We stayed in the Okonjima Villa, which is rented out on an exclusive basis only. We were not aware of this and only found out when we arrived that we will be the only guests, by intention. It was a bit strange to us, staying in a villa which can accommodate up to 10/12 persons, is fully staffed and you... More

This was our final stop on our tour of Namibia and the best was definitely saved until last. We only stayed one night and were fortunate to be upgraded from the Plains Camp up to the Bush Camp. What amazing accommodation. We had two linked rondavels - one, the bedroom and bathroom, the other the "lounge". Set a good distance... More

Large and comfortable campsite. Enjoyed the Africat tour by KK which introduced their rescue, rehab and release efforts, including meeting the resident cheetahs and leopard. Went for the afternoon cheetah trekking safari, which was somewhat of a mixed feeling for me. The cheetahs and hyena had radio collars to make them easier to track, and when located, were so familiar... More

This Safari Camp does exactly what it claims. Staying 2 nights we saw an extensive range of wild life including leopards and cheetah - in fact all of the game that they said were on the reserve. The guides were excellent and the staff well trained and very helpful. The accommodation was to a very high standard, although if you... More

Fantastic place - beautiful, luxurious and the wonderful staff made our stay very special. Our guide for the game drives was great and we were able to see cheetahs, wild dogs and a leopard up close. We stayed up late by the fire and watched the wildlife at the private waterhole. Being so secluded and having this wonderful suite to... More

What a wonderful place to stay, we wish we could have stayed for an extra night to be able to make more use of the wonderful facilities. The bedroom was very spacious with 2 king size beds and a large walk in shower. The windows opened out into the reserve where guinea fowl, warthogs, jackal and springbok all wandered past. There... We stayed at the most wonderful accommodation, spacious, well furnished and equipped and very comfortable. We particularly liked the open air sitting room. There was even a little dish of food to offer the guinea fowl and francolin but we resisted as they made enough noise early in the morning and we didn't want to encourage them. Good safari drives... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OKONJIMA - home of AfriCat, a non–profit organisation, committed to long–term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores. AfriCat started out as a welfare organisation, but after many years of rescuing large numbers of carnivores from irate livestock farmers, it became apparent that the long-term survival of large carnivores on both commercial and communal farmland, is dependent on finding solutions to the ever-increasing human-wildlife conflict. OKONJIMA hosts the exclusive Villa & Bush Suite, Bush Camp, Main Camp, the private Omboroko Campsite & the Volunteer Programme – PAWS. Halfway between Windhoek and Etosha. (B1) ... more   less
