We stayed two nights here in one of their entry level junior suites.
The lodge is beautiful, modern and over the top.
Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful.
We had a massage one day which was quite nice.

Its a bit far from each of Rotorua and Tongariro. If you don't play golf , I think you could possibly do better. Maybe Tree Tops just south of Rotorua for a night and then a night at Chateau Tongariro . Tree Tops is of the same ilk as Kinloch owned by same person , so up there in terms of privacy and price , Chateau Tongariro is old school hotel at base of the mountain - lots of walks to do information centre etc can also go up the mountain to visit the Knoll ridge which on a good day is a must . Also by one night in each place you see more of the country.
Obviously Tree Tops can do the whole thing as can helicopter to the national park or anywhere inbetween , but having been to all places I've mentioned thats what I would do!
