I stayed at El Portete for a weekend. The place is well located, near the Choroni town, where you can find some restaurants and souvenir shops and it's also near the beach. We only stayed here to sleep but I can tell you the place have a couple of pools and a jacuzzi , a game room with a pool...

Just spent two nights in the Portete and was really let down by this hotel. You are not going to get 5-star luxury in Choroni but the Portete could be so much better with just a few minor changes. The room was very basic and at an acceptable level of cleanliness, but nothing special. There is a nice pool and...

We stayed for a conference at the Hotel Hacienda El Portete and were accommodated in the sister property Hacienda de Garcia. The grounds/gardens were beautiful, hammocks, two friendly parrots, a turtle named Sofia and a little kitty named Susie. This colonial building is well maintained but has kept its wonderful historical ambiance. This location is within walking distance to Playa...

We were recommeded this place by Venezuelan colleagues, and they were spot on. Its a small hotel, 24 rooms and 3 suites, all done nicely plain and simple, nothing luxurious, but really well done nonetheless. The hotel is based around the families 300 year old cocoa plantation, some of the buildings are original while some are purpose built. We were...
