It's a quiet place, big and beautiful land, nice rooms but cleaning must be improved. Excellent pool, nice people, a place that we can be in harmony. The meals must be better and varied. The posada own, ms. Evelyn, is a friendly and attentive person

We enjoyed our stay at Bokaina, a peaceful hotel surrounded by gardens. Good service, infrastructure, rooms and pool. Great location near town and waterfront. Lacks a dinner option within the hotel. During weekdays nearby restaurants weren't necessarily open.

We've been going to Choroní for the last 25 years and have stayed at many different posadas over the years. Once we had found "La Bokaina", though, we never went anywhere else again. It's outside the village of Puerto Colombia on the other side of a little stream and blissfully peaceful and quiet. The best thing about "La Bokaina" is...

Stayed for nearly a week at La Bokaina with my wife. The first thing that you notice is how quiet it is. Its slightly away from the streets of Puerto Colombia across a stream, but the beautifully maintained spacious gardens make it feel like another world. Arrival is a little strange if you have not came in your own transport,...

This is a rather belated review (been nearly a year since we last stayed here)) but nonetheless this review should still be applicable for our very fine experience at La Bokaina based on what some of our friends have related to us about their recent visits. We are Venezolanos but live in the US so we know Venezuela well and...

A fantastic place to stay, whether for a couple of days or longer. For the 2 weeks I stayed (long enough to identify any shortcomings) I found this the perfect hotel. The grounds are substantial and immaculately maintained, the new pool is a great feature and rooms are spacious, airy (with air conditioning, satellite TV, reliable wifi, etc) and extremely...

Spent two weeks at la bokaina over the Easter period travelling to Venezuela from England. A very relaxing place, with beautiful gardens and an excellent location. Choroni gets very busy over the Easter weekend but la bokaina is quiet and peaceful even at this busy time. Breakfast is very good, the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are...

after finding Hotel la Bokaina as the top-rated posada on TripAdvisor, my boyfriend and I booked a three day stay here in November 2011. We chose it also because they advertised free wi-fi and included breakfast. When we arrived, the manager apparently was traveling for a family emergency, and the regular receptionist must have been out, so a lady who...

Thank you so much for your comments. They are appreciated and help us improve! The opinions of our guests we use when we develop the hotel further. As an example of this we can inform you and others that all the rooms now have Cable-TV. Other examples are that all the rooms now carry security boxes and a new large...

We spent four nights at La Bokaina in Choroni, and enjoyed it very much. Our lovely hostess, Evelyn, arranged for a driver to come and pick us up in Caracas, and this was a nice way to ease into Venezuela. The posada is beautiful and very well-kept, with amazing gardens surrounding the buildings. At the time of our stay, only...

My fiancee and I stayed here after recently getting engaged at Angel Falls. The posada is located off the main streets in Puerto Colombia, about 10 minutes walk from Playa Grande beach. To enter, you pass a mango tree(luckily for me, warm, sweet ripe mangos!) and then cross over a man made bamboo bridge, which adds to the character. The...

“We choose rooms at the farther end of the block, away from the main desk, solely for even more tranquility.”

“I don't know that you get a say in what room you get, but if you get past the first block of rooms, the wi-fi signal is not close enough to use. If you don't go on a weekend or during high season, things aren't running completely--either the posada restaurant or others in town”
