The hotel is conveniently located, close to the train station, the Constance lake, and really a few steps by the pedestrian area of the city. The room was very large, clean, comfortable and quiet, with a smooth and well functioning wifi connection. Breakfast buffet is having a good choice and quality, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Arriving by train, this hotel was a short walk across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our large, comfortable corner room had an enclosed balcony and was very quiet. There was an elevator and rooms had key cards instead of those giant room keys you usually get in other hotels. Great location with the lake and park across the street (on the other side of the train station), and the town just a walk around the corner from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was very good, with sunflower or pumpkin seed encrusted rolls, meats & cheeses, as well as cereal and eggs. Would definitely stay here again.

I have been using this hotel for years now. It was time to write a review.

For a business trip : It is perfect on all counts.
- location : close to the city center.
- bedding : excellent.
- modern & functional bathroom.
- clean, quiet and comfortable rooms (even too big, if you ask me :-) )
- free hi-speed internet.
- good breakfast.
- service : family & staff with a smile !

Perfect price/value ratio.

I definitely recommend this place to all travelers !

This is a nice little hotel. Very warm and friendly people. A very decent breakfast with real coffee served. The furnishing are a bit tired. The shower is too small. Close to the main old street. If you are staying in this town this is a good choice and very good value.

The owners are so nice, and the room was great! The location was very convenient for a short walk to the beautiful Lake Constance, or the pedestrian town. We arrived on Sunday, so the shops were all closed, but it was a nice walk through the town. Breakfast was wonderful. We highly recommend Hotel Zur Schmiede.

I was not expecting such a big room. It was very clean and very comfortable for business travel. Internet access was free. I will come back to his hotel when in the area.

For dinner we went to "zur Alten Mosterei", within walking distance. It was delicious: Uncommon dishes but very well done. I highly recommend it.

A very welcoming hotel situated on the edge of the pedestrian area of the town. The proprietor and his family were good company, humorous and helpful in every way. Breakfast at €5 each was excellent value. I was accommodated in the main building close to the railway and overlooking a main road. As a light sleeper it was necessary to close all windows at night. Otherwise the room was well equipped and perfectly satisfactory.
Radolfzell is a pretty town situated at the Western end of Lake Constance. The local transport is free whilst you are booked into a hotel. This gave full access to Konstanz, a city well worth a visit - even on a wet day! A free trip also by bus terminated over the Swiss border in Stein am Rhein, another very pretty and historic town but rather expensive these days. Two beers, two coffees and two sandwiches set us back over 70 SFr!

Room Tip: I would ask for a room in the quieter annexe on return to this hotel.

This is our second visit to this hotel and it was as good as the last.Had a bigger room again in the quiet annexe, excellent buffet breakfast and the mobility card which gives you free transport over a wide area. This friendly family run hotel is close to the railway station and a few minutes walk from the lake and town centre. Highly recommended!

Good advice of what's on where. Very obliging in manner. The stay was such that next time I'm in Radolfzell I will stay here. I have stayed her originally on business, which was fine. Years later I stayed here on holiday, with my wife, and I enjoyed my/our stay here.

Hotel Zur Schmiede is a very nice hotel with all the amenities which we look for a average price hotel. All the important places are not too far away - station is 5 mins walk, market is 6 mins walk, lake is just across it. This is very good in terms of the treatment you would get from the hotel owners and other staff. They are very good human beings. Wifi and breakfast facilities are available. The breakfast spread is one of the best and is very tasty. No kitchen facility is sometimes a problem for long term staying people especially people travelling form Asia - India. But if you can manage
I strongly recommend Hotel Zur Schmiede for a stay in Radolfzell.
