It was my third visit to the Bora HotSpa Resort and as usual, the staff was great and helpful and half-board was superb. Booked the Christmas special this time around and 3 dinners came with wine accompaniment. They sure know their wines and all of them were from the region. The rooftop bar serves some amazing drinks, too.
The crown of the hotel is its spa area…6 different saunas, one steam room, outdoor heated swimming pool and a hot Japanese Onsen pool. The spa area is never too crowded even though it is open to the public also - they limit the amount of people getting in. Hotel guests can always enter, though, during opening hours. Also, if you feel like it, you can hop directly into Lake Constance. For anyone not living North of the Alps, the spa area is a nude zone, not swimming clothes allowed! This is the norm for saunas in Switzerland, Germany and the Scandinavian countries.

Highly recommended for a healthy and relax stay. You can easily access the wellness area without having to exit the hotel. Everything, at the hotel and at the wellness area has a high hygiene standard (which we particularly appreciated). Beside the fact that you need to book the special body treatments a couple of weeks in advance, we were able to enjoy a normal massage.
The staff at the reception was very kind, just a pity that at the restaurant, during breakfast nobody look at your face and says "Good morning"...
We were happy to have stayed during the week because by Friday, it was getting really crowded.

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Bora HotSpaResort. The room was very nice and spacious enough, bed in the centre with a very comfortable mattress and a selection of different pillows. Minibar was free of charge, and bathrobe as well as flipflops provided. You can access the wellness area directly from the hotel, no need to bring anything more than the bathrobe and towels that are provided by the hotel.

The naturist spa - our main reason to go to this hotel - was a truly heavenly experience. It consists of a large selection of different types of saunas and a steam bath, an outdoor Japanese hot water pool, direct access to the lake to cool down, another outdoor pool, and different areas to relax. The guests were very respectful, and even on a Saturday it did not feel crowded.

The wellness areas has its own restaurant with great and varied choices.

We came here for few days to relax in cold winter time, also to enjoy the spa adjacent to the hotel.
The restaurant (pictures from our dinner attached) is highly recommendable for dinner! And the spa is really a jewel for people who like it, including an Japanese Onsen bathing.
Well to recommend or coming back here...

Bora has excellent location next to lake. Room was large and really clean. Minibar had soft drinks that were complimentary. Spa and beach part suit only for people who do not have challenges with nudity, but in case you don’t, it is really lovely area with possibility to swim in the lake or pool.

Hotel design, rooms and location are great. Only the nudist spa & swimming area is a bit uncomfortable if you are not in for this. There is no separation of areas. Other than that, very nice hotel and staff.
Dont miss the sunset on the rooftop bar

I can't say anything negative about the hotel or restaurant. I was VERY disappointed when I found out that the spa was "textile free." No bathing suits. Having muscle problems, I was looking forward to the hot tub and sauna, but I just could not make myself go into the spa naked with men and women. I think it is a little short-sighted of the hotel not to embrace other culture who are not comfortable being naked with others. I don't understand, "mandatory nakedness." What harm could a bathing suit do?

I will not return unless they change their policy. I paid for a spa experience I did not get.

I am totally mystified as to how this facility achieves the its excellent ratings. Having read its online profile, my expectations were high. We arrived early evening and were looking forward to comfortable, well presented accommodation and an enjoyable dinner. The exterior was promising and the foyer spacious. I was a little surprised when our room access was by a wristband and I wondered how many other wrists these had adorned before they became ours.

We made our way to our room via the only lift to the guest floors. We had booked a room several categories above the standard and I was quite shocked when we entered. The lighting was remarkably dim, there was no accent lighting and an imposing timber barrier separating the bathroom added to an overall feeling of gloom. Nor was there lighting of any description on the verandah, which remained in total darkness. The space itself appeared much smaller than advertised.

However, the most damning aspect was the sofa, which on closer inspection was covered in a variety of stains, not just one or two, but all over, to a point where it would have been unhygienic to have used it. We were offered another room, which we considered, however, when we looked at this, the sofa was in exactly the same condition as the first and in the second instance, the staining extended well onto the floor covering. This not acceptable in any hotel, let alone one with this reputation or price structure.

There were no other rooms, we left. If you are planning a visit, its worth noting that the pool and spa area are nude only, which was not an issue for us, as that information appeared on our booking confirmation. However, it is also worth noting that the spa and pool whilst accessible to guests, are also open to the public on a commercial basis, which I was not aware of at the time of booking.

The clerk on the reception desk was helpful, doing his best with the limited options available to him.

This very modern hotel is tremendously successful in looks and functionality. The rooms are really spacious and well planned with a feeling of luxury despite the modern and sparse touch. Beautiful wood used in abundance inside and outside, give it a special character. The hotel's restaurant offers equally modern and exciting delicious cuisine. I had dinner there for four nights and wish I could go back for the exceptional cream soups! Pricey though! Ask for half board as that reduces the price dramatically. The spa is awesome and is a must if you are a spa lover. Apparently one of the best in Germany. I agree. It is included in your daily hotel rate. My only negative is the horrible coffee served at breakfast. I am not the first to complain about this. With such fine cuisine and attention to detail, how can you oversee previous complaints of this nature?

We stayed at the resort during a trip with a large group. The hotel is very modern, with a bright airy lobby. There is one restaurant on site, and although a bit expensive was very good. For a bit less money there is a beer garden and outdoor fresh fish outdoor eating establishment just down the road.

The rooms are large and very comfortable. Our room had a very nice balcony that faced the rear of the hotel which was very woody. As a note, during the day it was quite nice, but after dusk we had many mosquitos (a minor inconvenience). The beds may be some of the most comfortable we have slept in. We had 3 in the room, including a teen aged son. They were able to put a third comfortable bed in the room, although this did cut down on walking space. There was one interesting note, in that the shower opened directly into the room and was separate from the WC. For couples this is not a but deal, but for families it took some people shifting to ensure some privacy (this was not hard to achieve).

There is a very nice spa at the resort, but for Americans it should be noted that is is "textile free", so be prepared to wear only a robe or towel (provided) in the saunas but nothing if you want to enter the pools.

There is a very mice bar on the top floor of the hotel. We were lucky enough to get to know a personable bartender named Marcus who made great drinks. He has a special drink made with popcorn that is worth trying.
