Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely room on the first floor (eight steps to climb for those of us with walking difficulties). It was very clean and had a great view of the garden area and a glimpse of the river. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the bed very comfortable. The owners did all they could to make us happy during the stay. We also attended a party there, with food and wine pairings and grilled offerings. Our group had a tour of the wine cellar also, which continuously made Riesling wines since the 1300's.

The first impression was good. Great location, impressive building.
At reception we were given an envelope with a key and verbal directions to the room (guest house by the park).
There we were greeted by a musty, moldy smell and the room was very cold.
The handle in the windowless bathroom fell off after 1 day and the shower tray had a plastic curtain.
The air conditioning didn't work.
Only after asking and complaining several times were we given a radiator the next day and the defect in the system was fixed.
The only plus point about the room: as much mineral water as you wanted.
The breakfast doesn't do justice to the price-performance ratio.
From 8:30 a.m. you had to make do with what was left. There was old and sometimes rotten fruit on the juicer. The juicer was only available until 9:30 a.m. even though breakfast was until 10:00 a.m.
The staff also had breakfast in the breakfast room and helped themselves to the buffet. The hotel has very good reviews.
We cannot confirm that.
If you look more closely, you can read exactly these criticisms.
It is obvious that they do not think it is necessary to fix these defects.
It is a shame for such a beautiful location.

We were informed that it was a historic building, overlooking the noisy main road and the Rhine. When we entered, we were greeted by a musty smell. It was disappointing that in the unheated suite there were only very thin blankets on the beds, with nighttime temperatures of 0 degrees. When we asked, we were given blankets from the bed in the room next door. The heating was powered by an air conditioning system and remained cold for two days until it was repaired following our complaint. Then it was very noisy, day and night, and could not be turned off. The smell, a chambermaid explained to us, came from the septic tank under the toilet. The door handle to the small bathroom fell off when we entered, and the shower had a plastic curtain.
The simple breakfast was actually offered until 10 a.m., but the juice machine had already been cleaned and turned off half an hour earlier.
It's a shame, the price-performance ratio is not right at all!
