This is always our go to place to stay near Kota Kinabalu. Great staff, beautiful location, good prices, and much quieter than the big resorts. Highly recommended! We just spent 4 wonderful nights here again, having just landed and recovering from jet lag. The premises are well kept and very clean. The rooms are great.

What a great, relaxing place this is! We booked our room by sending them a message in WhatsApp and had no issues. The location is around 15 km south from Kota Kinabalu airport which is great, because you get away from all the traffic noise of the city. You can hear the planes every now and then, but it is nothing like the noise in the KK center. For us the quiet surroundings were the really big thing. There are just a few sea view rooms and even when there were other customers, it was still peaceful and quiet. Sea view rooms have their own pool so most of the time it felt like having an own private pool just for us. The staff is friendly and helpful. They helped us to organise our next destination and also gave a hand when one of us got sick and needed to see a doctor. Their laundry service is great too: we gave a huge bag of laundry to them in the morning and got clean clothes back on the same day. Liza, the owner, is such a great personality and we had a great opportunity to taste a potential new sparkling wine with her. The restaurant is spacious with lovely view to the big yard and to the ocean. We liked their buffet breakfast, but on the last two morning they switched it to à la carte. For us it didn’t make a huge difference, because the food was plenty. It was pretty much the same as the buffet options but served to the table. The dinner menu has more western options than typical Malaysian restaurants. We tried spaghetti, lasagne and fish and enjoyed them all, but at the same time wished more local options. They do have surprisingly good selection of wines from all over the world. In addition to a few glasses of house wine, we ended up enjoying a bottle of Italian pinot grigio on the Valentine’s Day dinner.

The restaurant is relatively expensive compared to typical street food joints. Luckily, there is a really good local restaurant just a short walk away and we ended up eating there our last dinners. The Palm Square shopping area is just a quick Grab drive away and there you can find more local restaurants. Getting there costs 5 ringgits. Sea view rooms are clean and spacious. Shower has warm water, but sometimes it took a while to get it. Water pressure was weak but we managed with it. It is a really nice bonus that the pool is just few meters away from the room. Each room has their own decked terrace with a fan and two sunbeds. Like other have mentioned, there is a beach but it is not very good. They clean it, but the trash from the ocean piles up anyway. Annoying fact that affects so many beaches in Sabah. We spent five nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed at Langkah Syabas Resort from 3 to 13 December 2022. It was a tranquil spot to rest if you are looking for a place to get away from the city. We had a comfortable room just a few steps to a swimming pool. The resort restaurant offers a variety of choices so you can be sure you will find your favourite. There's free wifi in our room and also in the restaurant. We enjoyed having our meals on the restaurant verandah and looking at the sea. I also celebrated my milestone birthday at Langkah Syabas. My birthday celebration went smoothly. A Big Thanks to Liza (the owner) and her friendly/efficient team. Liza was very helpful. She even helped me find a hairdresser, photographer and cake maker for my birthday function. The contacts she gave me were all pros. I know this because I have organised numerous events at my workplace and fundraising events at my church. My husband and I would like to stay here again in future. We would like to sincerely thank Liza, her sister Flavia and the Langkah Syabas staff members again for making us feel welcome. We had a memorable stay!

My family have just had a lovely stay at Langkah Syabas beach resort. Run by an Australian guy and his Malay wife. Located by the beach, just south of KK, this resort has two swimming pools. We were upgraded so had a sea facing villa with a fan covered outdoor seating area and sun loungers. The room had everything you required... tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, tv, hot shower. Queen and single beds were handy as we have young children. Breakfast was great. Coffee machine for fresh strong coffee. Sausages! Hot food. Juices, fruit s, toast... The usual. Sausages were spot on! We ate dinner every night at the resort which was a bit pricey for Sabah. Expected on resorts. Children's meals were reasonable. Have to say, the food was very good. An alternative is D'Soka which is just a five min walk down the main road. They serve excellent local food. Couldn't get enough of the coconut shakes! Pool was well maintained and looked after, same with the grounds. Saw the pool guy twice in our four day stay. Staff were really good too throughout our stay. We chose not to have our room cleaned on the second day but then didn't get it done on the third day when we put the sign out. Not a big deal, waters and fresh towels got delivered to our room. All in all a great stay. Would recommend for a few days but there is not much around the hotel so wouldn't personally recommend stays longer than a week. Although we met some who come back year on year for over a week. Would come back for a stay. Only 15 mins from KK airport (RM15 in a grab).

Beautiful place. Staff, Peter and his wife the owners were very gracious to us. Anything we needed they made sure we got it. You can't beat the price. rooms are spacious, the food is real good, breakfast buffet is pretty good. It starts cooling down around 3pm with the ocean breeze. We will stay here again. What a place loved it

The owners Peter, lizzy, and the staff were wonderful. You need something they will get it for you. It was so quiet there. The price is right and the prices for meals were reasonable. Warning: No coffee makers just tea kettles in the rooms. We brought our own coffee because I wake up at 4 AM. The beach is muddy but at low tide you can go out and get clams. It gets hot about 11AM but cools down at around 3PM with the ocean breeze. The locals are wonderful also. You can get a full meal for around $2 USD in town. Me and my wife loved this place. We will be back next yr.

Had a nice detached chalet to ourselves, away from the pool. Had put in a request for a quiet room and this is one of the rare properties that actually bother to read and try to allocate rooms as per customers request. The chalet was dated and old though, albeit clean. Staff very friendly. A nice getaway from the city. Had a nice stay.

I chose this location for its description and reviews on booking.com, mainly because it was stated that it was at the beach. Reality was different. You cannot go to sea, i.e., there is no beach: in the afternoon the tide is so big that you cannot see the sea and all you see is mud and trash. Therefore, we went to Manukan and Sapi to do some swimming. Only Sapi was ok. Hotel staff is really good. There is a nice small shop of handmade jewelry. Plus a good tv channel with English movies.

Spent 4 days with here with my wife enjoying peace and quiet! We were very sad to leave. The hotel is well kept and the grounds very clean with 2 pools as well as beach access. The rooms come with everything needed for vacation and I can’t recommend enough the sea view suite for those who just wanna lay in the sun and chill. The restaurant is serviceable with a decent selection of dishes (try the Randan beef) and a surprisingly solid wine list for the area. The shining difference was in the staff: Suraya & co we’re amazing through our whole stay and helpful on what to see/do. Would come back in a heartbeat! Note: the beach front will suffer from the occasional plastic déchets but that’s the reality of the island coast
