A scenic renovated area of Liverpool that hosts the famous Tate Gallery, home to a wide range of world-class art, and the Beatles Museum, a tribute to the famous rock group.

Football is one of the city's greatest passions. There are two big clubs in the city, but it's those playing in red who enjoy most of the attention. Liverpool FC opens its Anfield Stadium to visitors during the day when no games are scheduled. Led by enthusiastic guides, the museum and stadium tour gives sports fans behind-the-scenes access to one of the best-known soccer clubs in the world.

The Cathedral was only completed in 1978. It was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott when he was only 22 years old. It is a great space, without pillars or pews, the space is able to host huge concerts, exhibitions and fine dining on the main floor. The tower is 110m high and is the best view in the city.

At Maritime Museum you can explore the history of the great port of Liverpool, with four floors of galleries: Seized! The Border and Customs uncovered; the Emigration gallery; Liverpool: World Gateway; the Titanic, Lusitania and Empress of Ireland gallery; the Battle of the Atlantic; the Art and the Sea Gallery; and the temporary exhibition space. The museum also includes t a café, shop and lecture theatre.

The Friends of Williamson's Tunnels are the custodians of two fascinating sections of Williamson’s Tunnels. The first, is Paddington, which is formed of multiple and impressive brick arched chambers. These chambers include the cathedral like Level 4, 60ft below street level, located on ‘Paddington’, Edge Hill, L7 3RG. Visits to Paddington are available free of charge. Our second site is Joseph Williamson’s House, we are currently working hard to uncover the hidden history of Joseph's House and its subterranean chambers beneath - Wine Bins, Sandstone Arch, Gash and the famous Banqueting Hall. We have recently uncovered Joseph’s Kitchen, complete with 4 large fireplaces & cooking Ranges. Williamson’s House is on Mason Street, Edge Hill L7 3EW. You were once required to sign the Official Secrets Act to enter the building, now it’s open for visitors to freely explore the immense bunker. The labyrinth of rooms and offices is a precious time capsule and although the 300 war time staff have long gone, a visit to the museum will transport you back to that time and make you ask questions about the people who once worked there. Self-guided tours take approx 1.5 hours Walk through hidden rooms and discover the stories locked in the WW2 bunker that protected the tactics of the British Armed Forces plotting to bulwark the Western Approaches and aid the Allied victory. Glimpse the documents and tools the Forces used to monitor enemy convoys and inform the British government of their findings, whilst keeping their intelligence secret from the enemy, including one of only two surviving wartime phones which had a direct connection to the London War Cabinet. See where Commanders, WRNS and WAAF personnel worked day and night.

Walker Art Gallery is a beautiful building housing a stunning collection of art. The galleries hold paintings from the 13th century to the present day: you can see work by Rembrandt, Hockney, Holbein, Turner, Lowry, Rossetti, Millais and Freud to name but a few. We also have a sculpture gallery, a craft and design gallery, and Big Art for Little Artists - a gallery specially designed for children up to 8 years of age. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the children'g gallery is currently closed and our Medieval and Rensaissance galleries are closed for refurbishment.
