Towneley Hall was the home of the catholic Towneley family for over 600 years, Now open to the public,the building contains Period rooms,A fine art and furniture collection, Exhibitions and events program in place throughout the year, Pre booked guided tours for groups of 20 or more, School visits and events can be booked throughout the year. Entry to the hall is £5 per adult-Free for students and children--Admission ticket is valid for 12 months. Last entry into the hall through the summer months is 4pm

Gawthorpe Hall is a superb Jacobean historic house, nestled in the shadow of Pendle Hill, East Lancashire. Built between 1600 and 1605 for the Shuttleworth family it has an iconic and important role in the local area. On a visit you can see the original seventeenth century panelling and plasterwork in the Drawing Room; period Victorian rooms redesigned by Sir Charles Barry (architect of the Houses of Parliament) showing what life was like for the family in the 1890s and enjoy the splendour of the Long Gallery. The Hall also has fabulous furniture, paintings and the Gawthorpe Textile Collection displays on the first floor. Please note there is no tearoom available. Ask in the Hall for details of good local ones nearby.

Based in the stunning location of the Thursden Valley, Briercliffe, Burnley, the Charity welcomes thousands of visitors each year. HAPPA is urging supporters to show their support by coming to see the resident horses and ponies, enjoy a lovely meal in The Café or shop at the The Fussy Filly tack and gift shop. Visitors of all ages are sure to have a great day out at HAPPA, meeting all the resident horses and ponies, chatting to our dedicated team of professionals and completing fun onsite educational activities. Families can have a great time on the playground or just relax in a unique rural location. To top your visit off relax in the onsite Café where you can grab lunch, coffee and cake. A miniature railway running for over one kilometre in a lovely recently restored park. Rides are only £2 per adult and £1 children under 16. We also have three special events where some rides are free. Check our webpage or facebook site (Thompsonparkrailway). A pay car park is open from Colne Road entrance. On our last running weekend of the year in September we donate all our takings to a charity. We also run a Santa Special on the first weekend of December.
