    For everyone
My family and friends had a fantastic day today at the soft opening - thank you so much! I’d forgotten in the time it’s been closed quite how amazing the live science team are: passionate, friendly, endlessly up for engaging with curious people of all ages and walks of life. My oldest (nine) was fascinated by the viruses game and the Tinkering Space and my five year old didn’t want to leave the shiny new leaning lounge. My partner was still contemplating the 3D planetarium show late into the night. The team got a very heartfelt “thank you for having us” from them as we left. Predicting a sell-out summer

Brilliant, worth the visit for all.
We went the opening Sunday, post the fire that has caused We The Curious to be shut for a considerable amount of time. We booked in for the 10am slot and the doors were opened and tickets scanned at about 10 to, which meant we could enter the actual exhibit at 10 on the dot. Everything is hands on, fun, interactive and insightful. There was extra bit on, due to it being the opening weekend, however, even with these things taken out, I would 100% recommend a visit here. I, as an adult throughly enjoyed myself, and the 12 year old I was with was so engaged that we went round most things twice. Even though it was busy, there was still plenty to do, and we got to do everything. Thank you, and we will be back soon. As a side note, the ground floor, has been redone, and so most looks shiny and new (even if some are old exhibits reskinned) but the upstairs is very similar to before, so looks a little more tired (and certainly more familiar), however everything works and is great fun so this is not a complaint, just an observation. We spent around 4 hrs here (with planetarium at an extra cost of £4pp.)
Hi Emma, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're so glad that you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to welcoming you again soon. Yes, our ground floor was redeveloped during the pandemic, whereas the upper floor and north gallery exhibits have been serviced and refreshed during our building reinstatement works. Thanks so much for joining us for our reopening weekend! Ailsa

Great for 3 year olds and older
I took my 3 year old as a day trip from Cheltenham and she absolutely loved it! Spent a good 3 hours there, I don’t think she missed a single thing. The queue time for the cafe was about 20 mins at lunchtime but other than that a really smooth day. Highly recommend
Thanks so much for taking time to leave a review, so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit - sounds like you covered lots of the exhibits and experiences!

    Absolutely brilliant all round
Have been waiting for years to visit and my children 7 and 9 absolutely loved it, as did we adults. The planetarium was excellent and well worthy the money. We spent the day 10-3pm and still didn't see and do everything. Food in the cafe was delicious. We loved it and so nice to have something different for my children to see and do. Will definitely be back!
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review - so glad to hear that you all enjoyed your visit - sounds like you definitely enjoyed a big day out. Look forward to welcoming you back again in the future to see the bits that you didn't see this time around!

Fantastic day out for all ages
Amazing place with lots to see and do for all ages. Lovely spacious picnic area and planetarium worth a visit. Gift shop a little disappointing. Usual pens pencils and expensive books. You need at least 4 hours to see everything. Lovely guy in the greenhouse talking plants and supplied kit to make your own garden in a jar.
Hi Carol, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're so glad you had a good time and hope to see you again.

    We're so glad you're back!
We're so glad you're back WTC!! Such a brilliant day out for all ages. We came after finding a free ticket in our BS13 neighborhood (Deprived area of the city) and love that WTC regularly reaches out into such neighborhoods to encourage/make it possible for families to attend. Really flexible pricing and membership is very reasonable too, so we'll be asking for this as a Christmas gift. Keep up your refugee and asylum seeker work too! We have neurodiverse kids aged 2-10 and discovered today that there is a lovely quiet calm room for families to relax and take a break in if the busyness of the summer holidays gets too much. Very calming and full of sensory equipment. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Such a welcoming and safe feeling space for all. Thank you WTC, we'll see you again very soon!
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review after your visit, and so pleased to hear that you all enjoyed yourselves - as well as making good use of our new visitor quiet room. It's really useful to know that it had everything that you needed, so we'll pass your feedback on to the funders who supported us with this room, and the teams who worked on it. And also so delighted to hear from one of our Curiositicket winners - look forward to welcoming you back again in the future with that Christmas membership! (We're also so glad that we're back!)

An Amazing Place for the Whole Family
We The Curious is truly an incredible place, I would even say it’s unique for the whole family. There’s no chance for boredom here, neither for adults nor for children. There are countless activities, fascinating experiments with physics and chemistry, as well as modern discoveries and facts. On the second floor, you can immerse yourself in the world of animation creation – from sketching to producing a full-fledged cartoon. You'll learn interesting facts about this art form and realize just how challenging and meticulous the work is. I also want to highlight the planetarium with its 3D journey through the corners of our Universe and solar system. You might not have enough time in just one day—we certainly didn’t. We will definitely visit this fantastic scientific place again. Huge thanks to the organizers for making this possible! 🥇
Thank you so much for your review. We love that the whole family enjoyed it, we always strive to make science experiences enjoyable for all ages. We're looking forward to welcoming you back again soon. :)

    A fun filled afternoon
This afternoon I have had a fun visit with my daughters. We spent approximately 4 hours here and looked at most activities. There are so many interactive stations that really get you thinking. We had great fun and lots of laughs. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
Thanks so much for taking the to leave a review, really glad to hear that you all enjoyed your visit!

    Great for a rainy day
Newly opened so a few teething problems but only in the cafe. Tills malfunctioning/cleaning/slow service. Well worth a visit. Something for all ages - grandparents to infants. The Planetarium should be booked in advance as age related. Found the entrance fee rather expensive for pensioners(£18.50)/out of towners. No parking.
Hi there, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review after your visit - really glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit, and found something for all ages, We'll make sure that feedback regarding the cafe is passed on to the cafe team, and also your thoughts re: pricing. To give a spot more context on our pricing, we're an educational charity - we don’t receive any direct central government funding, and so we rely on ongoing, valuable support from our visitors, members, trustees, grantmakers, corporate partners and volunteers. Making sure that we're accessible to is extremely important to us, we have lots of types of visitors – and so we have lots of ticket types. These include day tickets, memberships, open concession tickets and community memberships. We do also have a car park nearby (Millennium Square carpark) and are in the city centre to accessible by public transport. We’re always seeking ways to be more inclusive, so we'll make sure that your feedback is passed on. Thanks again for visiting, and taking the time to let us know about your visit.

  • Clifton Observatory and Caves Hotels
The Clifton Observatory and Caves sits above the Avon Gorge offering superb views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the city of Bristol. The Observatory houses one of the only camera obscuras still open to the public in the UK. Originally built as a windmill for corn in 1766, the mill was later taken over by William West in 1828 who then converted the building into his own artist studio and installed the camera obscura, which is still working today. The camera offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Avon Gorge & Clifton Downs. During his time at the Observatory West also cut an underground passage to the Giant's Cave which was originally only accessible via the cliff face. After a short descent into the cave guests can enjoy the spectacular views along the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge. The Observatory is open to visitors 7 days a week from 10am - 5pm in Spring/Summer and 10am-4pm in Autumn/Winter with last entry being 15 minutes before closing time.
