Lovely grounds, shame about the wait time in cafe!
Beautiful setting & loads of lovely plants & grounds to walk around & look at. The cafe was a disappointment in terms of the waiting time. We queued for 36 minutes before being served which was ridiculous! They had closed one counter & had only 2 people serving?

    Tree-mendous!
Lovely afternoon, despite it being very cold! Booked the afternoon tour with William who was so knowledgeable and brought the garden to life. Tour was only supposed to last for approx one hour but he gave up 90 mins of his time as a volunteer to tell us about the history of the gardens and the more significant trees/plants. Only grumble was that coffee shop was a little over-priced.
Thank you for your very kind review of the Garden and your tour. We will pass this on to William. - CUBG

    Beautiful Christmas Lights
We went for the first day of Christmas lights and they were amazing and magical. The lake had light up waterlillies and was frozen, beautiful trees lit up, fountain changing colours with music. Cafe open doing pizza, mac cheese, soup, sausage rolls, ham or cheese sandwiches and cakes. Had soup and husband had pizza, a bit pricey but good. Cakes very good, I had ginger and lime, amazing and husband had tiffin, good, very sweet. I had hot choc with cream, a mini one, £3.50 but very good, normal size ones were £5.50 or £6 with Baileys. Husband had apple punch but said was watery. Amazing time overall.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your evening. - CUBG

Don't let the rain stop you from going!
On a cold, wet January morning, we ventured into the botanic garden and were delighted we did so. The winter garden area was full of colorful shrubs and budding daffodils, snowdrops, and flowering bushes. And the resident fox snuck by us behind some trees! It was quiet, but a lovely local gentleman stopped to chat and told us a little more about the gardens. We enjoyed a coffee and a scone in the cafe (which also offered lunch items), then finished our visit with a tour of the glass houses, full of the exotic and the unusual. Every staff member we met was pleasant and helpful.
We are so pleased to read about your experience at the Garden. We look forward to welcoming you back again during the other seasons so you can see what else may be springing up at different times of year. - CUBG

Awesome constantly changing beauty of a place
Our favourite place to visit — never ceases to amaze how great it is. It constantly changes every day throughout the seasons. Staff are so friendly and well informed and the shop is an excellent example of how to do retail at a visitor destination.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoy visiting, and will pass your comment onto the Shop too. - CUBG

    lovely
Beautiful afternoon, even though it's freezing outside! I made a reservation for the afternoon tour with William, who was incredibly informed and made the garden seem alive. The tour was only scheduled to last approximately an hour, but as a volunteer, he gave up ninety minutes of his time to explain us about the significance of the more important trees and plants in the gardens' history.

    Beautiful family walk
We stumbled upon the Botanical Gardens on a cross country car journey because we were looking for a place where the kids could stretch their legs. Entrance fee is very reasonable and children go free, which was a bonus as we didn't have too much time to spend. What a beautiful place and so well maintained! The kids loved the little rock formations around the pond. Would definitely return when things are in bloom, it must be gorgeous!

    Must see attraction
This place is well worth a visit . An oasis of calm just outside a busy city . Staying at the Clayton Hotel it was a brief walk away. Even in March on a cold day it was well worth a visit .

Cambridge University Botanic Gardens are well worth a visit
Defiantly worth a visit even in the winter. The tropical plant houses are wonderful and lots of plants in flower. The gardens are worth a stroll around and are very well maintained. Plenty of seats, especially in front of the fountain . The café sells excellent brownies but don't be in a hurry as the service is slow. The gardens were quiet and not crowded when we visited.

Lovely gardens to visit even in March- so many varieties of beautiful flowering species to see.
Even in March this is a lovely place to visit. £7 each for adults, we could have stayed for hours. The glasshouses are amazing to visit with so many different areas of the world represented here. The gardens are well maintained. There are many different gardens represented such as a winter garden, perfumed garden, herb garden etc We saw many gardeners doing a spring clean when we were there on a Tuesday.
