    Definitely visit
We often go to the Fitzwilliam as they have great (free) exhibitions. The Real Families one is stunning. Moving, surprising, beautiful, happy and sad it’s one of their best ever, and on until January 2023. Definitely go. We saw Black Atlantic too which was a smaller exhibition but also amazing.

    Great Museum
I spent the afternoon exploring the Fitzwilliam museum and it was really enjoyable. There are currently two exhibitions that are well worth viewing. The real families exhibition was one of the most interesting exhibitions I have seen. It deals with current and past idealisms of the family and is beautifully integrated to bring the story of how "the family" as we knew it has changed and how we are a better society perhaps because of this. It gives much food for thought and it was interesting with great art work past and present. There is so much to see in the Fitzwilliam from the impressionist paintings to amazing sculptures. There is a lovely shop with an array of books puzzles and much more and lovely books etc for children. The coffee shop is well worth stopping off for a light lunch or a coffee and a cake. I left a donation but was not asked to do so. Thanks to the Fitzwilliam once again for a very memorable day. I have to add that all the staff were very helpful and kind.

    Worth a visit.
A small free mesuem with lots of artefacts from around the world during different eras. The anthropology levels are very interested and learning about the history of Cambridge is aborbsing to look at. The staff were friendly and the shop sells lovely little trinkets too. I primarily went there to look at Roman artefacts but was fascinated with what was on offer.

    Stunning entrance, good collections
The entrance is spectacular. Personally I’m not that interested in the ceramics and art galleries, but the Egyptian, Greek and Roman archeological collections are very impressive and well displayed with clear labelling throughout. Nice cafe but very busy when I visited.

    Must-see museum
Stunning museum which frequently hosts fascinating exhibitions, I visit every few months. The permanent exhibits are well worth seeing, and the current William Blake exhibition is well curated; a stunning collection not only of his own work but an exploration of how he was connected to others. Highly recommended!

    William Blake exibition
Visited the Fitzwilliam museum to view the William Blake exhibition. It was excellent, I was amazed at the work this man had created, and spent an hour admiring his craft. The exhibition was very comprehensive, with lots of information about his life, and the artists who influenced his work. The only negative was that in every room the guides seemed totally preoccupied with their phones, so it was difficult to attract their attention if you had a question. I highly recommend you to pay a visit.

Went to see the fantastic Blake exhibition, so didn't get too much chance to excplore rest of this fantastic museum as we were on a deadline. Great building and some breathtaking exhibitions. Blake exhibition was fantastic. Nice shop and cafe. Friendly staff.

Well worth a visit but eat elsewhere.
Wonderful collection of diverse artifacts and objects. Some of the item descriptions were displayed at ankle level and hard to read. However this does not detract from the experience. One serious deficiency is the cafeteria. The standards of which fall well below any other museum or gallery I have recently visited. The prices and portion sizes are meagre and expensive to the point of robbery.

    Well Worth a Visit
This museum is free to enter. It is housed in a very impressive building. It has a very varied collection from Roman artefacts to 18th century paintings. We didn’t manage to see everything in one visit, but we particularly enjoyed the works of art.

This is well worth a visit
This museum is well worth a visit. There is so much to see from different parts of the world and some items date back over the past 5000 years. It will take you hours to see every. There is also a decent cafe to go to after you have seen everything. This museum is free to go to. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again.
