    Incredibly Moving
I did not realise how great the American involvement was in WW2. A beautiful thought provoking a peaceful location - which gives great food for thought . The visitor centre was both informative and very moving to read the real life tragedies . I came away both reflective , moved and grateful for all the support of thousands of Americans who gaved their lives so that we could enjoy peace . We should never forget them .

    So Tranquil & So Humbling
My Wife had & I visited Madingley Cemetery & Memorial on Saturday 11th May with an included guided tour. We would recommend that you enter through the main entrance & not from the 'bottom car park, so that you do get the full WOW factor on entering...& it was a WOW for us!!.... What a place & somewhere that if you're in the area is a 'MUST DO'... So tranquil, peaceful & calming, but immeasurably Humbling to what these brave servicemen & women sacrificed for us all. My wife had pr-booked the tour as a suprise for myself & we'd certainly recommend this. Our 'tour guide' was the actual Superindent of this Fabulous site, the equally fabulous Angel(ex US Navy). He had previously held the same role at the the US site in Florence, Italy. He was simply amazing, having time to tell the story of Madingley but still having the time to listen & answer our own questions. We left feeling like we had made a 'new friend' Thankyou you Angel & Thankyou Madingley for a thought provoking experience. We will be back. Dave & Susie

    Incredibly moving
The day we visited was raining but didn't dampen the impact of reading the stories of the fallen and the sight of so many graves and the wall of the missing. You could not fail to be moved. The grounds are kept immaculate. I had not realised that American red cross women were also buried there. Well worth a visit whether you know anything about WW11 or not. There is a chapel and a visitors centre, both beautifully presented.

    Stunning
My third visit here to this stunning place. There aren't many words that can sum up the place and the atmosphere. It's immaculate, calm, peaceful, tranquil, tasteful and respectful. The visitors centre is quiet, calm, thought provoking and informative. When I visited there the gardeners were out in the grounds attending to the immaculate surroundings. If you want a place to visit that's calm and reflective then please visit here. Never forget.

    Worth a visit
I visited the American Cemetery with my children (11 and 9) on a day out in Cambridge. We arrived on the open top tour bus. The cemetery is so peaceful and pristine. It’s immaculate, clean and very respectful to all those who died. It was quite a sobering visit to realise the number of those that died and in what circumstances. It was a really interesting visit, and whilst ‘enjoyable’ doesn’t seem like the right word to use, I would definitely recommend this to people to visit if they are in the area. We arrived at approximately 3pm and were there for just over an hour. We could have stayed for longer, but I was getting conscious of the tour bus coming back to pick us up. The visitors centre was modern, informative and well laid out, and there was a table set up for some activities for children.

Visit to the Cambridge American Cemetery.
I have lived in Cambridge for over eight years and passed the American cemetry many times without visiting. It was only when American friends visited on Armistice day that I visited for the first time. The cemetry is immaculate and serene. There is a explanation on why the cemetry was created and a number of memorials to WWII heroes. A place for contemplation.

Stunning and evocative. Well worth a visit.
We went here as a last minute decision and we were not disappointed. From the films as you walk in, to the moving stories and pictures of different military personnel around the walls through to the beautifully maintained grounds- it was both evocative and awe inspiring. The chapel had many small details that meant at every turn there was something else to realise even at a repeated look. The artistry was fantastic. Well worth a visit.

    Don’t miss the American Cemetery
This is a beautiful, immaculately kept cemetery containing 5127 missing named on a wall and 3812 graves of WWII U. S. armed forces plus others who served during the war like band leader, Glenn Miller. It is on a lovely hill donated by the University of Cambridge. There is an interesting visitor center where stories of those named there is recounted. We were impressed with how well the cemetery is kept. Men were pulling weeds and a nice man was painting the gates with great care. Don’t miss it. The hop on, hop off goes to it.
