    Dip But Don't Dine!
We visited as a family and paid for The Dip and Dine at £15.00 per head. The pool facilities are fine there are 2 pools a small jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The jacuzzi had a very strong chlorine smell which caused your eyes to water, it wasn't possible to use it for more than a few minutes., however the pools were clean and a reasonable temperature. Things went downhill when we ordered our meals. The chips were cold and we had to ask for fresh ones. We had ordered two con carne meals which were supposed to have had a sour cream and mozzarella topping ,this was missing and when we asked they sent us some grated cheddar as a replacement. The 5 bean chilli was actually just tinned tomatoes with a couple of chick peas and beans , pretty awful and probably 50p worth of ingredients. There was also problems with parking as the machine in the car park was broken and we were supposed to know the exact time of arrival and then pay as we left, what an ordeal that was. The staff do not have access to whoever runs the car park the on screen log in didn't work properly and they couldn't give a receipt for any one paying cash, a ridiculous system open to abuse , make sure you photograph everything as you are in danger of a parking fine. WON,T BE RETURNING ANYTIME SOON.

    Great spa day
Visited yesterday and was a little apprehensive after reading some of these reviews. However it was fantastic. It’s not a “posh” quiet spa, it’s a lot more fun but with good quality Elemis treatments. We paid £135 for a spa day that included fire & ice, 2 treatments and afternoon tea. I think this is fantastic value compared to some places where it would easily be £200+. The staff were very helpful and had lockers ready for us with our robes and towels in. Every time we asked a question they were very friendly and went out of their way to show us where things were. The fire and ice is a great interactive starting point for your day and fun. The hot seats are amazing. Treatments were good and the spa rooms are nice. The chill out room is also nice in an Aztec theme. The main pool is massive and also Aztec themed. It was busy from the hotel so we didn’t go in but would be a great pool to swim in if it was quieter. Afternoon tea was good. Not much variety (ham sandwich, cheese sandwich, Victoria sponge and scone) but the scone was hot and soft and lovely. This is a good value and fun spa. Purpose built it is far superior to many of these hotel spas where they basically put a treatment room by the pool. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off.

Needs a revamp and service skills need improvement
    1. Had to pay for parking £10! She be included in the price 2. Wasn’t impressed with the spa was told they didn’t supply robes and towel as should be in our hotel room, even though we couldn’t check in til 4 and our pre booked treatments were at 11… was told had to keep my bags with me! I wasn’t happy or impressed she ended up giving me a robe then as I was getting changed in the changing room she came in with some slippers and a locker key… surely this should be provided on arrival and some guidance as to where to go felt really confused and unsure from the start wasn’t relaxing at all! 3. Hotel room had black mould everywhere near where you sleep, loo seat was broken Won’t come again

    Freezing cold pool
This isn’t a luxurious spa experience but they’re too expensive for us so it’s all we’ve got! The good bits are that the treatments are wonderful, with nice Elemis products and the Fire and Ice experience is good, although people seem to want to hog the heated loungers by leaving their towels on them, and one of them wasn’t working, so there weren’t enough to go round. The waiting area bit is kind of fun with its Aztec theme, but seems a bit shabby. It’s got a coffee machine and you can sit in there and chill and chat which is fine, but nothing else to do in there. The main pools are FREEZING so you can’t really have a relaxing swim in them. I couldn’t even bring myself to get in. Not sure why they keep them so cold/unusable (it was the same a year ago). This meant that the hot tub was rammed full because nobody wanted to get in the freezing pool. So we couldn’t use it despite waiting ages. They really should do something about the horrible pool temperature. The food is alright. If you’re vegan it seems you have to choose the vegan burger. Menu is limited to sandwiches, chilli or burger, so basic but the food was as you’d expect for the sort of place it is. Make sure you’re clear on the parking. Some spa experiences have parking included and some don’t it seems.

    Fantastic experience.
Fantastic experience. Tish and Sara were amazing, went out of their way for me. They were so friendly and kind. It's so good for Autistic people because they really look after you. Hot tub was great, massage was one of the best I've ever had. It was a clean resort and a really great experience.. thank you. One thing I would say is the pools are pretty cold, 18 and 19 degrees because of the energy prices. And with the climate crisis we can't afford to use more fossil fuels but maybe we could have a few hours of hotter pools or higher prices.

    Nothing special
Terrible service from the reception staff, felt like we were intruding in their personal conversations before they noticed us waiting to be greeted. Young girl behind the main desk was especially rude and needs to go to a customer service course, no smile at all. Came to the fire and ice experience for my friends birthday, the spa was nice however it's just a sauna and steam room.. nothing fancy. Advertised as a multisensory experience, there was no spa music, no refreshments offered, and definitely no smell of essential oils in any of the treatment rooms. The jacuzzi was dirty and the heated loungers were barely warm. We left after 45 mins and the young girl again didn't ask us about our experience just looked up, took the keys and went back to her computer.

Dirty changing rooms and pool . Shocking afternoon tea!
Poor customer service, no greeting, reception staff didn’t seem to care at all. Dark and dirty changing rooms and a dirty cold pool. The fire and ice is nice but a hour isn’t long enough. Poor quality afternoon tea! Surely each person is meant to get their own serving for a start, for the cost you get three finger sandwiches, a piece of cake to share and a scone! Not the quality were used to on a spa day. The only reason I gave it a two is because the treatments were nice, and the therapists were polite. Nearly £400 for 3 of us for the day and the reception staff didn’t even acknowledge us when we said thank you as we were leaving. You need to do better when you’re changing that much.

    Staff unpleasant
I often visit the Aztec for swimming and am always met by unwelcoming staff. There’s never any greeting or even a smile. They’re often very rude and abrupt and leave people waiting at the desk whilst they finish their conversations with each other about topics not related to work. I have a membership here that I unfortunately cannot get out of, otherwise I would have left because I always feel uncomfortable walking into the reception area. They have had some issues with parking recently and have been extremely unhelpful with this giving false information out about it and causing distress. This hasn’t been the first time they’ve said one thing and then gone back on their word. I have had an unpleasant conversation with who I think was the manager who barely listened to what I was saying before cutting me off. What i was asking about, 3 members of staff said was possible, for him to then say it wasn’t and was really rude about this when I knew full well i was able to do said thing. There also seems to be a common occurrence of not having enough locker padlocks despite tons of lockers being unused so have often had to take all of our belongings to the poolside which is not practical when needing to shower first and then picking up all my stuff wet and having to lug it around the pool. The pool facilities are good, however, there is often lots of sand at the bottom of the pool, around the pool area and on the steps which is not pleasant to walk on. I feel the staff definitely need some more training on customer service .

    Pool lacking and unprofessional reception
Went to use the pool etc with my family and was disappointed with the cold pool and facilities but especially the receptionist. Her name is Tish. She seemed to be too busy chatting to colleagues and not very professional. I don't know if she is new to the role. Anyhow I don't think we will be back in the future.

Lovely spa experience, really enjoyed treatment and fire and ice. Dine experience - Food simple and okay but good with Dip & dine price. Pool area is nice with a temple feel, water in bigger pool is freezing!!! Changing rooms for pool is old, dirty in places and could do with a revamp to match the experience and quality of fire and ice changing area. Had a pay for parking on top of full spa day which was £10 per car! This was a blow after spending over £100 per person for our day!
Hi Gabb2407, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review with us. We are so pleased to read that you had a lovely experience with us. The pools are heated to 29c and inline with Swim England Guidance. The bigger pool is often used by lane swimmers too, but we apologise if this was not warm enough for you. We have noted you other comments regarding the changing rooms and parking to discuss with the management team. Warm regards.
