    Excellent service
I would like to thank the Brittany Ferries staff in Roscoff for their help on Monday evening. We phoned the port en route to Roscoff to say that we had been held up and were told that they would do everything possible to ensure that we could travel. They kept in touch with regards to our progress and when we arrived, we were sped through check-in and shown straight onto the boat with courtesy and efficiency. We travel frequently with BF and are always impressed with the service but this was above and beyond.

Mini Cruise Portsmouth to St Malo
The mini cruise offer is good value for money so a group of us booked. One hour delay leaving Portsmouth, one hour delay at St Malo before we could disembark, and a half hour delay coming back to Portsmouth. Cabin was small and neat, shower only offered hot water which was too hot to use. When you’re tired from travelling a shower is just so essential. Duvet very thin and bath towel more akin to a tea towel. We had the a la Carte menu on our outward journey. Poor service, mediocre food, the veggie option was not nice at all. We had to queue after dinner to pay and had an inaccurate bill. My time in France was a pure delight but I think for me flying is an easier experience

    Perfect ever time.
Can’t fault this company. Always fantastic. Clean cabins, great staff, good food. Efficient fuss free service. I would cross the channel any other way. Use their service every year and not had a bad experience ever. Website is good too!!

Very comfortable and enjoyable trip across the English Channel
We traveled on the Mont St. Michel on March 6 from Portsmouth to Caen on the 3:00 sailing. We had an outside cabin on Level 9, I believe. Everything was very, very nice. The crew was very helpful in noting my limited mobility and assisted us in getting on the ferry and with our luggage. Our cabin was very clean and comfortable and the snacks in the small refrigerator were greatly appreciated. The onboard meal in the cafeteria style eatery was very nice. The duty free shop had a lot of very nice merchandise. The nicer restaurant and the movie theater were closed but as it was low season and there were not that many passengers, this is perfectly understandable. We had no complaints at all and would definitely use Brittany Ferries again.

    Another really enjoyable crossing/trip
I often don’t recognise the service/experience on the Portsmouth to St Malo route compared to many reviews I read. The Bretagne is one of/or is the oldest ship in the Britanny Ferries fleet, but the recent experience on both crossings was utterly pleasurable. Simple check in, well organised and professional boarding/disembarking, great value and quality dinner in Al a carte restaurant, clean functional cabins, good service throughout the ship. Overall a great experience and pleasurable start and finish to a northern France holiday trip home . Much better than the hassle of flying.

    Strong wind!
Then it was time to take the ferry from Portsmouth to Ouistream to visit France and Normandy. It took about 6 hours to get across. The boat is owned by Brittany Ferries and on the boat was everything you needed to have a good time. Restaurant, cafeteria, duty free shop and comfortable lounges and chairs. When we got on board, we found out that it could be quite an uncomfortable trip if you were prone to seasickness! And you got seasick!! It was shaking so much that the perfume bottles in the duty free shop fell off the shelves so they simply had to close the shop! The waves leveled off the closer we got to Normandy and we took the opportunity to eat in the restaurant while we had gained some stability in our bodies. The chef in the restaurant was standing there alone and there were hardly any other guests at the tables. He had made an amazingly good steak bourguignon in his pot! The pieces of meat were so tender that when you took the knife and cut, they fell apart! It didn't look that remarkable on the plate but the taste....This meal made me believe in life after seasickness!!

France for a birthday trip and a game of two halves!
Sailed to Cherbourg from Poole on a morning ferry. The ship was very quiet so embarking and disembarking was quick and easy. Staff were friendly and food was good. We sailed back to Portsmouth from Caen and this was a nightmare. Took ages to get onto the ferry despite it being generally quiet. No croissants so you couldn’t have the express breakfast! Card machine kept malfunctioning and staff were quite rude. Booked a day cabin but had to wait at least 30 minutes before we could use it. Customs at Portsmouth was slow and laborious.

Efficient and comfortable two night trip to Bilbao on Galicia
Two night ferry journey to Bilbao. Accessible cabin. Comfortable. Used the Commodore lounge for day time seating, great views, ok food. Only complaint for the whole trip was poor WiFi in cabin and the wholly incomprehensible and user unfriendly cabin tv and radio controls. Catching an evening boat and arriving in Bilbao at 8am for onward travel is an excellent idea.

    Ferry
We have travelled with BF for many years. It is a ferry not a cruise ship, as some people seem to believe. Possibly because of adverts saying Cruise to France? The facilities are adequate, and the restaurants serve average quality meals. There is no competition for BF which might help improve the quality/price. We accept it for what it is and are quite content with what is on offer. The most disaffected passengers seem to be pet owners.

Totally met and exceeded expectations again and again.
I could not fault the service or standard on board. BF is a ferry service and a very good one at that. I have travelled twice a year sometimes more and each and every time, I have the same healthy positive experience, check in staff are always friendly and helpful, ship crew are exactly the same, ok sometimes the food can be a little disappointing, but its a 1 night or 2 at best crossing. Prices have gone up, but so have prices everywhere. I am already looking forward to booking once the winter timetables are available.
