Very good but let down by awful cafe
Great astronaut and planets show. Exhibits well maintained. Very clean. Good value. Very educational ahd interesting. Bring a packed lunch as cafe is vile. Processed junk under guise of being vegan. V limited choice too.

    Glad we went
What a great place. Brought our two grandsons for the day. Probably more suited to 8 year old but 13 year old enjoyed it as well, probably downstairs more suited to him. They loved the weird room with wobbly flooring had a job to get them out of there and builders brick area. Did use the cafe although limiting for boys they didn’t go hungry and we had delicious panini. Would definitely recommend a visit. Shows were good as well.
Hi Christine. Thank you for your review, so glad you had a great time

    Night sky live was excellent
We came along for the Night Sky live event and were not sure what to expect to be honest. Loads of people there, but well organised. First of all off to the Planetarium. Really engaging talk by the guest presenter (sorry can't recall his name). Started teaching us all about the locations of stars and planets. Then time to explore the science centre. I got absolutely hooked on an old school arcade game called "Killer T Cells". Would have ended up playing all night given half the chance! Covered most of the high score table with my initials! Then off outside. They had these brilliant Bluetooth headsets so we could all hear the presenter chap. He was very entertaining and knowledgeable and used a laser pointer to point out things he had covered inside with us. The sky was fairly clear so we got a good view. Shame they couldn't turn more of the lights off inside, as it wasn't as dark as I would have liked (but I am being fussy as was trying to take photos with my slr). Overall a great visit and one we would definitely do again

Lovely day out, amazing for pre-teens
The kids loved this place, so nice that they could explore freely and there was enough to keep them occupied for over 4 hours! It’s more aimed at slightly younger kids- my 5 and 9 year olds had a blast, my 13 yo enjoyed it too but got round it a bit quicker. He was with his 12 yo cousin and they wanted to go to the planetarium show on their own but weren’t allowed without an adult, which was a bit of a shame as they’re so sensible and they had pocket money to pay for it! We prepaid for carpark but it was full so we had to park on the road, but we were given a £3 voucher off shop/café. I don’t think they were expecting the volume of people! So, in summary, fabulous for kids pre -teens, maybe there could be a little something for the slightly older kids, eg a little demonstration aimed at older kids. It’s so tricky when you have kids of different ages to find somewhere they can all enjoy!!!

    Enjoyable day
We went to the science museum with a three year old, 10 year old and baby. Our 2 girls had plenty of fun with the interactive activities and both ages were catered for. The planetarium was excellent and interesting for adults too. We don’t normally eat out, however the cafe had so many vegetarian options we decided to treat ourselves and were impressed by the food and service. To finish off the day, the girls enjoyed the soft play. I would highly recommend.
Hi there, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We are so pleased to hear that your children enjoyed visiting the Science Centre. It's wonderful that our vegetarian options swayed you to eat in the cafe! We do hope you'll be able to visit us again soon. Thanks, Rosie.

    Absolutely fantastic!
This is a hidden gem and the perfect way to spend a rainy bank holiday Monday! It is really fantastic, I visited with my five year old and I couldn’t fault it. We watched live science shows, the bubble trouble theatre show was 10 out of 10 with an amazing host, the planetarium show was amazing. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The only tiny thing I might mention is the food options were slightly limited by the time we arrived at 1pm with all the jacket potatoes sold out but overall fantastic. Thank you!!
Hi there, thank you for visiting the Science Centre and taking the time to leave us a lovely review. It's great that you were able to spend the rainy bank holiday with us and that you enjoyed both the science show and Planetarium show. On rainy days, we do see that more people attend the Science Centre - I will pass this on to our café team so they have more jacket potatoes available for our guests on these days! Best wishes, Rosie.

    A great time had
We decided to stop here travelling back to Dorset with the main idea to get the kids out of the car. This venue did not disappoint. My seven and five year old loved it. The exhibits were fab. Plenty to keep my children engaged. We stayed for lunch as well the cafe could do with a wider choice. Apart from that it was brilliant visit. The science shows were brilliant as well

    Fantastic fun!
Our family of four (including a 7 and 11 year old) thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon here. The exhibits are entertaining, engaging and informative. Our children had so much fun learning about lots of things. The narrator (Sin) of the Planetarium show was fantastic- really friendly, funny and very informative. The scientist who lead the science show was great as well- i'd highly recommend doing both. We ate in the cafe. We had a panini, 2 (very large!) jacket potatoes, a children's lunch box, 3 drinks and 2 cakes which came to just over £30. Great price and great food.
Hey Chrissie, thank you so much for leaving us a review. It's wonderful to hear your family enjoyed their afternoon at the Science Centre. I will be sure to pass on the kind words to Sin and our other presenters. It's good to know that our café menu is affordable for families whilst also being tasty. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Science Centre in the near future! Best wishes, Rosie.

Highly recommended for budding mini scientists and space lovers. Planetarium amazing
Amazing time with our 5 year old grandson. He loves anything to do with space and science so a perfect place and we weren’t disappointed. The planetarium according to our grandson was the ‘best’ bit of the visit and the presenter was very engaging and pitched things just right. All the staff very superb I have to say and the range of hands on exhibits kept us busy virtually all day. We loved the short 5 minute science shows which were perfect for our grandson who is keen to learn but not in great depth. It took me back to my Physics at secondary school seeing all the experiments and how much effort has gone into making them interesting and informative. Certainly worth a visit - probably 5+ would be the minimum age to get most out of the visit but will go back again when our second grandchild is a bit older so he will get the most out of the visit. Considering the price charged it’s good value for money but charging extra for parking is a little bit cheeky to be honest. Would highly recommend
Hi there, we really appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review, thank you! The Planetarium is such a cool experience and we are so glad that your grandson enjoyed watching the show. We love hearing kind comments about our staff and I will be sure to pass this on to our team. We look forward to you visiting us again when your second grandchild is a little older. Thank you very much, Rosie.
