    Awesome
This was something we were told 'we should do' and it didn't disappoint. We walked from Red Tower to Fishergate Postern Tower, I don't do heights so had been worried as I'd read some parts of the walls don't have a barrier along the wall, this part didn't, but it wasn't high enough to need it. It was a great way to see the city and all of us (2adults and 2 teens) enjoyed it. Glad we did it. At Fishergate, we then went into Witherspoon's for some food and a drink.

Add some perspective to the City
A different way to view York. Surprisingly the wall goes about 1/2 way around the City and then you can follow the rest of the wall by walking along the streets. You can enter the wall for free and don't have to pay for a tour.

Great way to spend a couple of hours
Great walk round York City walls. With exception of a couple of breaks in the wall it’s amazing to see how intact they are. We had a lovely day for it and it was well worth doing the entire walk. Great free experience and way to see a bit more of York on a crazy busy Saturday shopping day!!

Not quite the top of the wall.
The walls and ruins are a fascinating and worthwhile experience. The steps up to the top of the wall are steep and it is high for people who are afraid of heights. It is a special experience. I really would have appreciated more signage. Without it I had no idea what I was looking at or which time period it is from.

    Enjoyable
A pleasant, easy walk with good city views. It was mostly paved and therefore safe to manoeuvre with just a few steps to get up and down. The wall briefly ceases to exist in a few places and I sometimes had to search for the next stage.

    Taking The High Ground
We had a day out in York and after a hearty breakfast at The Postern Gate we strolled around the walls of the city taking in the glorious views. It's a lovely walk and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. There's ample opportunity to leave the walls, break away, have a look at the locality and then return to the high point and carry on your merry way. There is history ay every turn and plenty of spots to read up about the points of interest you'll pass as you enjoy your journey around the walls. A fascinating stroll that you really must do if you ever visit the gorgeous city.

    Walls Walk
Nice walk around the walls. We started at the Bootham bar which I'd recommend as you end up as the very picturesque section at the end. Very easy walk, some steps at the sections. Lot of stuff I read said it took about 2 hours but don't think we were walking much longer than an 1/1.5 hours. Fairly steady walkers (both 41). I'd say earlier you go the better as I'd imagine it gets pretty busy. We went around 9am and as the morning went on it started getting busier.

    It’s a must do!
We walked the entire walls over 2 days (stopping off at other places if interested) but could be done in 1, gentle stroll. It’s an amazing walk, full of history and views of the city. Our mind went back I. Time and tried to imagine what it was like… But then you come across Viking and roman artefacts, a tower that’s now a museum. Just mind blowing!!

A must see and do in York
The history of these walls is impressive and amazing. They run the perimeter of the city. We walked the entire walls in a day, getting on and off to see the different sites on the way. Some of the paths are narrow. Some of the stores are steep. Beautiful views from most of the walls, not so much when you get to the housing estate at the back, but how fab to look out of your window and have these on your garden gate!! We bumped into a walking tour whixh we listed to at the stop we were at, even better if you want the whole experience. A must see and do whilst in York for all ages.
