A must visit place in Nottingham
Though it was a cloudy afternoon, a couple of hours of walk in the park was a very pleasant experience. You can park your car near the Wallaton Hall, then walk around the Hall building. Heading down from the stairs near the Hall and walk towards the pond, there were dozen of wild deer welcoming you (remember to keep distance from them). The park was not crowdy at all and the view is great. A must visit place in Nottingham.

    Wollaton Hall
My daughter lives in Nottingham so we are regular visitors to the park, but this time I took my grandchildren (8 and 10) to the house and we all had a really enjoyable time. Miniatures upstairs were fabulous and mindboggling. Although the T.Rex exhibition was closed for refurbishment. We ended up doing the 2PM Hidden History Tour because of the bad weather. £12 per adult kids were free. Tour lasted an hour and was really interesting. Our tour guide, Ella, knew so much about not just the history of the hall and the Willoughby family, but of the history of Nottingham aswell. We were very impressed. Prior to going we had no idea the public could access the roof, or that there were kitchens and a tunnel. The time flew by but it was a little sad to see parts of the building in disrepair.

Good natural history museum linked property
Great if you like taxidermy! Easy walk from.the car parks to the hall. Good to see the deer roam freely. Hall is natural history museum linked so lots of animal exhibitions which were well presented. Loved the microscopic sculptures. Should have done the guided tour to see the original rooms. Good shop too.

A nice place for a walk and coffee
Went today after not going for several years. Firstly it costs £5 to park and you need to do it Ringo. We walked round the park which gives lovely views across the lake of the hall in the sun. The trees have their autumn colours and look beautiful. The sad part was that the gardens were closed as they were being prepared for the Christmas festivities. We had coffee and orange chocolate brownie in the cafe which had been developed since we last went. It was good and tasty and much better than the last time we went.

    Wollaton at Christmas
We enjoyed our trip to Wollaton and it being our first Christmas event it certainly put us in the mood. You need over an hour to see properly, we loved the house being lit up and the disco lights put me in mind of new year…..understandably there would be a budget and maybe an increased one would extend the installations? We did feel the admission costs were high for many families but the children we saw were having a great time. If you compare to theatre trips and the rising costs of kids entertainment this is one they would remember longer.

    Great Day Out
Wollaton Park is a 500 acre park in Nottingham which includes a deer park. On a small hill stands Wollaton Hall, an Elizabethan country house which contains the Nottingham Natural History Museum, with the Nottingham Industrial Museum in the stable block. Inside the Hall was a great collection of taxidermy as well as a display of miniature models - so miniature not to be seen by the human eye, that was fascinating. Out door there were magnificent trees and gardens. The Rex is King Exhibition was amazing and showcases the first real Tyrannosaurus rex to be displayed in England for over a century. The entry fee was for parking and no entry to the Hall (from memory) when we visited. All very reasonable - would be an ideal spot to pack a picnic and spend the day.

Festive Downstairs tour of the Hall
Decided to pop to the Hall for a look around and was surprised to find that it was free entry. Loved the house and the exhibition ( until April 2024, I believe) of the outstanding miniature art work of Dr Willard Wigan MBE ( please Google him, def worth a look) As it was free entry we paid £5 each for a festive mini below stair tour and to our delight it was a private tour! ( held twice a day 11am and 2pm, not supposed to private but we were lucky!) it was quite exciting to be allowed through the locked doors and heading downstairs via the servants stairs. Ella our tour guide was inspirational! She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the building and its history, and answered all of my random questions. The staff were incredibly friendly and we had a thoroughly lovely and relaxed afternoon. As it is nearly Christmas time the courtyard is decorated for Christmas, carols are playing and little wooden huts are all decorated and lit up and serving food and drinks. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours

Fantastic day out for all the family
Blown away by Wollaton Hall today. Happened to chance upon it when looking for a location half way to meet a friend. Welcomed in by members of staff. Entrance free and just £5 each for a tour. Tour guide Julie was fantastic. So knowledgeable, witty and really wanted to show us as much as possible. We admired the 360 views from the top floor Prospect room, outside on the lead roof walk ways and then down in the depths of the cellars. We didn't want the tour to end but then enjoyed the of animals of the world and the mind blowing Minature Masterpieces exhibition of tiny sculptures inside needle heads. We enjoyed lovely sandwiches and soup in the cafe, the grounds are vast and the play park looks fantastic for a return visit with the whole family. Highly recommend Wollaton Hall and park. Thank you for a great day.

    Super day out for all
Great day out. What a lovely location to give the kids 4-10 a day out. The park was suitable for all and the cafe next to it was great. Really friendly staff. We walked up to the hall and everyone enjoyed the exhibits. Especially enthralling was the needle artistry by Dr Willard Wigan. Amazing. Staff were all great and kids were able to explore. Great value - you only pay for parking. Cracking day that I’d highly recommend.
