    Efficient every time
Since my last review I have had an extensive tour including Manchester to the South West returning via London in June, a day trip to Bradford in August and a September break, up to Carlisle and back from Newcastle. All my 12 journeys turned up and all secured a seat, although 3 had delays of around an hour and another of 1/2 hour. Most if not all were unavoidable due to traffic jams, rail strikes or very windy weather. In at least 1 case the tracker had been kept up to date so we knew about the delay. (I didn't otherwise use the tracker) There were 2 nice touches in particular for when I travelled from Bristol to Manchester via London. The attendant at Bristol when I asked about double-deck coaches was gentle and informative in his answer. Likewise, when I sought a last-minute amendment at Victoria the assistant printed my new reservation without expecting me to amend online. As there has been a traffic jam in Lancashire I asked the driver during the refreshment break how far behind schedule we were. He not only told me but even remembered I was heading for Carlisle and gave me a revised estimated time of arrival! I had amended the date for my coach journey from Newcastle to Manchester. I was pleased that my insurance date was amended accordingly (although I didn't need to use it in the end). The driver prepared us in case it was uncomfortable due to winds on the M62. The 1/2 hour delay due to the 40mph speed limit could not be helped. It has become second nature to prioritise National Express whenever the timings are convenient.
Hi conrad1511 I am happy to hear you enjoyed your overall experience travelling with us and we hope to see you travelling again with us soon. Regards Samantha

Pleasant and smooth bus ride to meet a longtime friend!
The driver was funny, friendly, and informative. Boarding process was easy and smooth. Bus had chargers and wifi. Seats were comfortable and had tray tables. Bathroom on the back if needed. Should’ve used it so I could review it lol. Would definitely use them again on my next visit to the UK. If you’re a foreigner like me, make sure you pay attention to stations, departures, etc. I don’t use mass transport often so all the stations and routes can get confusing. Take extra time and double/triple check your routes to make sure you’re going to the right places.
Hi Billygreen13 Thanks for the lovely review, really nice to hear that you had a great experience with National Express on your recent journey. I look forward to hearing from you next time you are on board. Regards Samantha

    Victoria Station Chaos!
We chose to go by coach because there was a rail strike on the day of our return journey. The trip up to London was pretty stress free and on time but the return journey was a bit of a nightmare. Victoria station was packed and chaotic - surely they are used to the trains being on strike by now! People were getting angry and shouting at the lack of information We had no information coming on the screen to tell us that our coach was delayed and then our coach information disappeared off the screen completely so none of us knew wether we were even standing in the right place. The coach arrived over an hour late and the coach driver came in and called us to get on. We arrived in Portsmouth with 5 minutes to spare to run and get the ferry back to the isle of wight, but an hour and forty minutes later than we should of been. I will say that the driver did his best in difficult circumstances and it certainly wasn't his fault but, Victoria Coach Station needs to do better when the rail strikes are on!
Hi CQ22, Thank you for your review, and I am sorry for the delay to your journey. I appreciate that delays can be an inconvenience when travelling, and we do our best to keep these services to schedule, however, heavy traffic and congestion, road closures and accidents are circumstances that we can not predict in advance and will depend on the day of travel. As we do not have your ticket number we are unable to look at the specifics of your journey. If you wish to discuss further please contact us via this link http://www.nationalexpress.com/help-and-advice/contact-us.aspx. I hope this does not discourage you from travelling with us again in the future. Regards Samantha

Seat number paid by 2 different passengers!
I booked and paid my ticket and seat no 2B from Port Talbot to Heathrow 3 months ahead of time. When coach arrived in Cardiff, a guy has the same seat no 2B, also going to Heathrow. He showed his ticket and seat no and I've also showed mine which was the same seat no 2B. To avoid any more hassle as he does not want to give in. I volunteered to give in. I ended up going to another seat. This is not fair on my part, as I've paid for my seat for my own comfort, to be given away to somebody else. As I've said, I just gave in to avoid any more hassle. Hope this incident wont happen again.
Hi h0sannan, Thank you for your feedback, and I am sorry to hear that the seat reservation was over booked. As no ticket number has been provided or any journey details I have not been able to look into the specific journey for us to investigate this matter further we would need further details and should you wish to discuss this with us please use the following link http://www.nationalexpress.com/help-and-advice/contact-us.aspx. National Express does a good service
National express does a good link service, but a few issues like the 6.30pm coach left before the 6pm to London. The coach was clean, just passengers making it dirty to a point a man went to toilet made a mess excreta in the sink and on toilet seat. I feel sorry for the driver having to clean it up.
I am happy to hear you enjoyed your overall experience travelling with us despite the delay. National Express worth considering!
As far as travelling to the airport is concerned, I've never considered taking the coach there. But it must be said, the last time I tried to get to Luton Airport, one train operator i.e. named after the famous river that cuts across London, had the audacity to cancel my train, thus making me spend three times more than I would've liked by taking a PHV cab over there. Then of course, we had the rail strike and once again, forcing me into looking for an alternative solution. Mercifully, I had 24 hours to plan and that's where I discovered National Express' services to London Luton Airport. Of course, now I know that existence of this service, I will put this as migh most highest of priority when next looking for a Luton Airport travel.

    A stress-free trip to Heathrow!
The departure of our coach was delayed by the late arrival of our coach due to very heavy traffic. National Express staff kept us informed at all times then made a few changes to coach bookings to ensure that people who needed to catch flights from Heathrow could get there with enough time. The staff were very friendly, open and flexible to make suitable arrangements for everyone. The trip from Bristol to Heathrow was a brilliant, comfortable, stress free alternative to staying in the vicinity of Heathrow the night before the flight then needing to get us and our luggage to the airport on the morning of our flight.

    Driving refresher courses possibly needed.....
NE actually provides a good and value for money service and is much appreciated. However, the standard of driving on my 'regular' runs often sees some very dangerous tailgating, sometimes to within 12 feet of the vehicle in front. Please stop this! We passengers appreciate NE doing their best to get us to our destinations on time but we'd like to be in one piece or alive at the end of it! I've also left feedback on the form sent to me after my most recent trip.

    A Bostin experience
The coach was spotless, the leather seats very comfortable with good leg room. Our journey to Heathrow T5 was smooth and effortless, we very very pleased and impressed. Our driver was on his own, not only did he have to load about 40 heavy cases, he booked us on the coach, drove us in comfort down to Heathrow, then had to unload them for us! Well done that man.
Hi, Thank you for leaving a 5* review. We are delighted to learn your journey with us was a pleasant one. We hope to see you again soon :) Kind regards, Rema
