    Great museum
We visited here on a Tuesday morning and it was quiet and easy to get around. The highlight was the old streets showing what Leeds was like pre the sanitation improvements and the talk by Luke about the myths around left handinesses. He was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic - an asset to the museum. I’d recommend the museum for people of all ages and there was lots to do for children as well.

    Interesting
Really interesting place. Learnt lots. A really enjoyable couple of hours. Definitely worth a visit. The only downside was we felt parking was a little over priced at a pound an hour on top of the entrance fee

    Good, but.....
A great place for a few hours, if you can dodge the school trips. They took over the canteen and also the victorian theatre and the morgue were closed due to school visits. This dud restrict the options and in my view made it an expensive visit as these were two exhibits which were key to my visit. If I'd been informed they were not available when buying my ticket, I likely would have choosen to visit another day. Felt a bit cheated.

    Very informative
Went with Dad, great fun, really interesting, expanded my knowledge. Can't believe Dr's didn't wash their hands. Disease street was good. Like a scattergraph. Engaging people, good taking role of a person. Wouldn't recommend many parts for children under 15. Lots of adult medicine learning. Good activities for children in some places tho. Information well laid out. Took 2hrs leisurely pace. Was quiet in morning. Cafe menu poor.

    Not for under 10s
I’m not anti-kids. I have two. The cafe was full of mums and toddlers, bizarre. I can’t understand why you would take someone so young. Quite a few younger kids running about all over. Some of the exhibits and videos aren’t really appropriate for under 10s. We were out within 45 minutes. Glad we have been but I wouldn’t go back.

    Well worth a visit!
A really, really fantastic museum and more to it than what we first thought. We particularly liked choosing our characters and following their stories with the interactive light boxes. Very reasonably priced and the staff were kind enough to let us stay in the car park after we finished our visit so we could walk to get something to eat.

    Fantastic
The museum was amazing, really good fun. Lots of information about diseases, with science and history. Disease street is a great immersive experience. We got to see some medical leeches too. The gift shop is also fantastic and sells giant microbe plushies and deadly disease top trump cards. The location isn’t the best, about 30 mins from the train station by bus, but it’s well worth it.

Small but adequate for tiny ones..
While my husband visited his mum at St James hospital. I decided to take our 20mth old Granddaughter to the Sparks play area. We didn't visit the museum part as she's a little to young but its something to consider when a bit older. She had loads of fun at Sparks. They have lots of pretend play things as well as a soft play area. Lots of fun..😍 There is also a cafe and little gift shop ..

    Very much worth the visit!
We enjoyed our visit tremedously. The museum is well designed with a lot of interesting and top notch exhibits on display. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it's great value for money. We particulary appreciated that the museum employs volunteer staff from the disabled community and gives them a voice in their exhibits as well. A particular highlight fairly early on was disease street that even involved roleplaying. One criticism would be that an audio guide would be a really nice touch since it's a lot of reading otherwise.

A VERY INTERESTING AND DIFFERENT MUSEUM - WELL WORTH A VISIT
This is a fascinating museum with lots of interesting exhibits. We chose to go on a day when there was a tour of the stores included. This was excellent as we were shown around the stores by a very knowledgeable and engaging member of the museum staff. There were lots of interesting explanations especially a little insight into the challenges of being a museum, storage environment and receiving potential pieces. The museum itself was well laid out with a lot of explanation of the displays on boards. The Victorian street was particularly interesting and opened your eyes to the problems our ancestors faced. The equipment displays are very extensive and interesting, showing the development of various procedures and treatments over the decades. As a retired pharmacist with 45 years of practice, the apothecary section was fascinating to me. However, it did make me feel old when I saw examples of drugs, medicines and equipment that I had handled were now on display in a museum! But they were a good memory jogger and nostalgic. The staff at the entrance were very helpful and helped us to orientate ourselves. The only possibly negative comment I would make is the café. There didn't seem to be a great deal of choice to eat and it was quite expensive. But that was not a problem - this didn't reduce our enjoyment of the museum - plan to eat somewhere else. The museum is easily reached by bus from the city centre near the railway station or The Headrow and the stop is outside the museum. Well worth a visit if you are in Leeds.
