The Science and Industry Museum sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

People’s History Museum is the national museum of democracy, telling the story of its development in Britain: past, present, and future. Explore the radical stories of people coming together to champion ideas worth fighting for. Come and visit our 1879 Police Station, complete with original cells & charge office! Upstairs we have a 1895 Magistrates Court as well displays of equipment, vehicles and evidence and on the ground floor. We are open every Tuesday for drop in visits, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday by appointment for group visits. During the school holidays we also aim to open on Thursdays.

HOME is Manchester’s centre for international contemporary art, theatre and film. The two theatres show an exciting, eclectic mix of plays with an international focus. The five cinemas showcase the very best in contemporary and classic cinema. The gallery presents work by emerging and established artists. We also have a restaurant, bar and bookshop.

Manchester Jewish Museum is a place to experience how we are different, together. Our museum first opened in 1984, housed in a Grade II* listed 1874 (former) Spanish and Portuguese synagogue in Cheetham Hill, one of the most diverse areas in Manchester. Following a £6m redevelopment and extension our new museum includes a new gallery, vegetarian café, shop and learning studio & kitchen as well as complete restoration of our synagogue. We connect Jewish stories to the world and to our society to explore both our differences and similarities and celebrate that which makes people unique and that which connects us all. In doing so we look to spark reaction and change and to make real the knowledge that there is more that binds us together than separates us. We boldly explore and combine educational, cultural and artistic experiences to encourage those with whom we come into contact to feel and believe that we are all better together.
