Amazing history of industrial revolution up to current days
My wife and I went to Science and Industry Museum recently while in Manchester. Entrance is free which was nice. Museum covers lot of ground and years. Amazing to see the impact of Manchester area on industrial revolution plus more recent history on computing and engineering. Lot to do for kiddos. Fun visit and recommend to do.

    A truly unique museum experience
I love this museum so much. It's spread across a number of historic buildings with a rail yard in the middle. Sadly, the majority of the buildings are closed for major renovations. The museum is still great during renovations just very very abbreviated. Lots of wonderful exhibits about the textile industry and other technological advances made in Manchester, including a replica of Baby, the first computer. Looking forward to when it is completely open again.

    Great! We had a blast
Brilliant. Took the children to the exhibition about pooh. It didn't disappoint. The team was helpful and the visit was great despite most of the other buildings being closed. Worth a trip if you want to go somewhere with the children. The Power Up exhibition was also very good.

    Must Visit When in Manchester
Amazing museum with revolutionary machines from England’s role in the industrial revolution. However, currently not all parts of the museum are open. Also note that you are expected to register in advance online and make ticket reservations to enter.

    Power Up Exhibition
We visited the Power Up exhibition and it was well worth the money. It has loads of retro games and my 11 year old daughter and 10 year old niece loved it. You can come and go all day which makes it really good value. It was £7 for children and £8 for adults.

Manchester Museum, one of the largest university museums in the UK, is over one hundred and thirty years old. The original neo-Gothic building was designed by renowned architect Alfred Waterhouse (1830–1905) and is home to around four and a half million objects from natural sciences and human cultures. It has always been a place for research and learning, and we are a critical part of the city’s research infrastructure today. hello future is the name given to the £15 million capital project, which transformed the museum and completed in February 2023. Although our building and objects are important, the hello future transformation was about so much more. We asked ourselves how we can care for people, their ideas, beliefs and relationships. We believe that museums have extraordinary power to build understanding and empathy between cultures, across generations and time.

  • Manchester Jewish Museum Hotels
Manchester Jewish Museum is a place to experience how we are different, together. Our museum first opened in 1984, housed in a Grade II* listed 1874 (former) Spanish and Portuguese synagogue in Cheetham Hill, one of the most diverse areas in Manchester. Following a £6m redevelopment and extension our new museum includes a new gallery, vegetarian café, shop and learning studio & kitchen as well as complete restoration of our synagogue. We connect Jewish stories to the world and to our society to explore both our differences and similarities and celebrate that which makes people unique and that which connects us all. In doing so we look to spark reaction and change and to make real the knowledge that there is more that binds us together than separates us. We boldly explore and combine educational, cultural and artistic experiences to encourage those with whom we come into contact to feel and believe that we are all better together. We make connections to make things better.
