You have to visit this market - it's amazing
What an amazing place. Food stalls downstairs open till 1pm. All sorts of vegetables, fruit, meat and cheese downstairs. Upstairs is an amazing food hall and bar, and you could almost eat there every lunchtime and evening. It's a must visit when in Florence

    Nice... definitely coming back!
From the outside it doesn't stand out much but once inside it is very large and characteristic. It has a lot of choice, it's a slightly chaotic place but this feature highlights its convivial aspect. Very nice... we'll be back, also because with just one visit you can't eat everything you want to taste!😅

    Visiting Mercato Centrale, Firenze
My friends and I had the best experience at Mercato Centrale. We have been back a few times, and have been so happy with all of our experiences. We have enjoyed great food, locally sourced produce, and even international food cuisines on the top floor. My classmates and I also had the opportunity to speak with Mercato Centrale's marketing manager, Elisabetta. Here, we learned about how important it is for Mercato Centrale to support local artisans in local Italian communities. We also learned throughout our visit with Elisabetta how each Mercato Centrale location across Italy has its own unique aesthetic and merchants, all with the same values regarding their strong support for local producers. The organization as a whole holds strong values and valiant efforts that support local communities, and they offer great experiences centered around food and drink! We definitely recommend visiting the Mercato Centrale of Florence, and even the other locations around Italy in Florence, Milan, Rome, and Turin. Enjoy your visit there! -Kayla, Haley, Caroline, May, and Sam

    Love it!
I am a student studying abroad in Florence and for one my classes, I had the honor to travel to the market to meet with the manager, Elisabetta, to discuss the marketing/image of Mercato Centrale, as well as actually getting to experience the market with my own eyes! So much work has been put into this beautiful building and it is so rewarding to watch it pay off. This is definitely a must-see whether you are just visiting, studying abroad, or are a local!

    Must Visit Top Floor!
The staff here is very friendly and I absolutely love the marketing structure of Mercato Centrale. Plenty of space for people to sit with friends, family, and get a quick snack or a full meal at a friendly price. Also has a great variety of foods to pick from. Perfect place to go to if one of your friends wants Italian but the other wants asian!!

    Fantastic and quaint market!
Mandatory stop if you visit the city! You can breathe the true daily life of the Florentine citizen! Very good quality and price of the products! We had lunch upstairs with a sandwich with the phenomenal Lampredotto! Absolutely worth visiting!

A great companion for solo travelers
These days, you can find this kind of facility in most major tourist cities, but this one also has the basics: transparent billing, English is spoken, credit cards are accepted, and there are decent toilets. To be honest, the prices are a bit high, but it's still a great help for solo travelers, so I went there many times during my stay. There are some slightly suspicious stalls around the building, but don't worry about it, just go straight in.

    Florence's belly
The central market of Florence is worth seeing. On the ground floor you have all the food traders. On the first floor, you have all kinds of fast food restaurants where you can order and eat on tables shared by these traders. You also have the opportunity to take part in cooking or wine tasting.

    Try/buy some typical Italian food
We loved it! On the lower floor, you have endless opportunities to buy local food, spices, and the rest, and in the upper part of the market there are many different restaurants where you can try typical Italian food or something foreign. The place is very homely, the people are friendly, and it is definitely worth visiting.

    Great food and drink
Brilliant place to appreciate the connection between Italian food and culture. Mooch around the market and head upstairs to eat...just remember to take a breath in between plates as you will want to eat and drink everything! It was a great place to spend a rainy afternoon.

  • Piazzale Michelangelo Hotels
This neoclassical-style piazza built by Giuseppe Poggi in the 19th century offers some of the best panoramic views of Florence's historic center. The plaza is also home to several replicas of Michelangelo's famous sculptures, including David and the Medici Chapel statues. To get to the piazza, you'll need to climb up a steep hill, but the unobstructed views are worth it. Sunset is a popular time to visit when the plaza is bathed in golden light. You can take a taxi or car tour up the hill, or for a unique experience, pass by the piazza on a Vespa tour through Tuscany from Florence. – Tripadvisor
