Roland was a very fun, knowledgable and charismatic captain. The tour itself was very interesting and he gave us quite enough time to meet other passengers and have fun while enjoying the wines and snacks. We also got a bit of a bonus time since we were having so much fun, which only made the good vibes even better. The boat and route are also great, comfortable seating with great unrestricted view on all of the landmarks you come by during the tour. Much recommend!

The trip was very informative and our tour guide Greetz was charming and fully informed. His personality was easygoing and answered everyone’s inquiries. The weather was perfect and the other passengers got along great. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam book a tour with Captain Jack and ask for Greetz.

I was visiting a friend who lives in Amsterdam. She’s had many visitors who have tried many of the canal tours over the years- and she decided that Captain Jack was the best and suggested we go on this tour. It did not disappoint! Captain Kat was knowledgeable and fun, showing some historical landmarks and things you’d miss along the way. The snacks were great, the drinks had a large variety. My favorite part was the size of the boat. It’s small, intimate and the experience felt customized. I would definitely recommend!

My second time on this tour as I brought another family member this time. Informative, funny, comfortable. A great selection of beers, wines, soft drinks and snacks to help yourself to.

We had an amazing boat cruise in Amsterdam with "Captain Jack Cruises" and our fantastic female skipper, Kate, also known as Jack(line) today…. We loved our Captain Jack trip. 90 mins ! Evening trip @ 7pm on 31 Oct 2023. Gorgeous boat - just the right size (not too big and not too small), candlelight, snacks (Cheese, crackers, dry sausage, sweets etc) lovely wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks. Boat was cozy ! Our guide and his adorable companion (Oli the dog) were great - friendly, warm and Informative without being boring and questions and interaction were encouraged. Highly recommend. We did the the 1 hour (too short) Heineken trip with large boat (lots of people) and a guide with a microphone. No chance for questions etc. Captain Jack was a hundred times better. .

Rory was a fantastic and if his grandma is reading this then she should be proud. Brilliant tour of the lights festival and really informative. Plenty of drinks and food, very enjoyable and very worth the money. A must do whilst you are in Amsterdam

My wife and I did this excursion a day before our Viking cruise out of Amsterdam and it was great. Captain Jack’s captain not sure of his real name was an excellent guide and knowledgeable storyteller. He gave us a thorough and enjoyable tour of the canals of Amsterdam. It was a small group which made it more personal and we were lucky to have great weather since the boat was uncovered. The only issue was finding our pickup point because there were no signs or banners. We had to sort of guess and ask others in the area. Otherwise it was a very fun and memorable day.

Fantastic commentary and a lovely cruise around the canals to see the Light Festival. Our captain and guide Onno was a very funny and knowledgeable man. He made the trip really as the art was pretty bad. It was great to have local knowledge and we learned a lot as well as being very entertained. It was a great evening. The only downside was the snacks. They were pretty poor, a tiny bit of average cheese and some sweet stuff which I couldn’t eat anyway because of my diabetes. I thought there would be more savoury snacks. The drinks were also not great, no water and no diet drinks so not much I could drink. I wouldn’t book a cruise with snacks and drinks again, just the cruise as it wasn’t worth the extra money. Bearing all that in mind, Onno made the whole experience and I would do it all again! Haven’t laughed so much in years. Also, nearly forgot, it is quite difficult to find! Rang the number given inc saw you can’t find them but just got a recording so no help there. Some lights and signs on the top side would be helpful.

Did the Festival of Lights tour with a group of 14 ages 16 - 66. The skipper was funny, the boat is lovely and lit with fairy lights and the beer, wine and sodas are available to help yourself The light festival itself is quite , well crap. But as a nice relaxed early evening activity it was lovely to see the city from the water. Just don’t expect a high quality light trail as it’s not exactly Blackpool illuminations. In fact I think our cul de sac at hike puts on a better festive show What this is , is a nice low key hour boat trip with drinks and snacks. We all enjoyed it
