    Disappointing return visit
This was a return visit (the first since 2008), as I was keen to show my 4 year-old daughter the beautiful loggerhead turtle, Antiopi, who used to live there (I have subsequently discovered that she was moved to Brighton in 2021). I recollect a member of staff telling us about Antiopi’s background story, and I was moved to donate something towards the turtle conservation cause. Sadly, like many other places in recent years, Sea Life Scarborough has become a tacky tourist destination. The loud music playing throughout only serves to make the crowds of people talk louder. We only spent half an hour there as my husband was desperate to get away from all the people, and our daughter was desperate to get back to the gift shop to buy a toy! She did enjoy seeing some of the animals on the way though. Even at the discounted ticket price of £30 for the three of us, it seemed quite expensive for just half an hour’s visit.
Hi SallyE197 Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We are saddened to hear that your visit did not live up to your expectations. We have our talk and feeds from 11:00 till 15:00 all about our animals we have on site and to add value to our guests experience, as well as to build upon their understanding of the species that call the centre their home and some of the reasons behind the different species living in captivity. On average, most of our customer's spend 2-3 hour's at the centre, did you get your hands in our rockpool? Regards Athena Guest Experience Team Leader SEA LIFE Scarborough

    Amazing day out
Sea Life Scarborough was a really nice day out with the family. They had a wide range of sea creature AND reptiles/insects on display here and spent a good few hours wandering around these amazing animals, which included stingrays, sharks and seahorses as well as snakes and a giant ants home which was very impressively incorporated into a hand rail. Whilst there we we watched the seal show which included some amazing information on the beautiful creatures. Overall, it was a really fun day out and would recommend to anyone.
Hi Loz_0112 Thank you so much for leaving us a 5* review! We are glad you have enjoyed all out creatures here at Sealife and enjoyed our talk and feeds. Thanks again, and we hope to 'sea' you again sometime soon! Kind regards, Athena Guest Experience Team Leader SEA LIFE Scarborough

    Sharks after dark experience
We did the sharks after dark experience where you get to visit after hours and experience the aquarium without guests there, and a tour guide. Massive shout out to our guide Chelsea, she was so informative, great with the kids, even answered their 283716366 questions. Kids loved it, adults loved it. Couldn’t recommend more if you have kids that are into sea life or even just learning. Learnt a lot about the personalities and life of all the sea life at Scarborough Sea Life and it just added to the experience.
Hi Bhalliday15 Thank you so much for leaving us a 5* review! We are glad you have all enjoyed the Sharks after Dark experience with Chelsea and was able to ask all the questions you could. Thanks again, and we hope to 'sea' you again sometime soon! Kind regards, Athena Guest Experience Team Leader SEA LIFE Scarborough

    Excellent family fun
Excellent place for the adults and the kids. Staff were very friendly and enthusiastic about what they do. Good exhibits and my kids particularly enjoyed the seal feeding and penguin talks. Lots for them to see and do, spent a good few hours here exploring and playing. They also loved the turtle rehabilitation experience which they found interesting and interactive. Had some snacks and drinks from cafe, a bit on the expensive side but there was 6 of us. Meal deals looked value for money though. Would definitely return, one of our boys did the missions aswell and enjoyed learning new facts. A fun family day out.
Hi 246leonaw Thank you so much for leaving us a 5* review! We are glad you have enjoyed your day and our talk and feeds with the seals and penguins. Thanks again, and we hope to 'sea' you again sometime soon! Kind regards, Athena Guest Experience Team Leader SEA LIFE Scarborough

    Educational and fun
A nice mix of sea life to see and plenty of environmental education in a real life context. The tropical reef exhibits in particular were first class as these can be tricky to maintain to such a high standard. Nice to see the Humboldt Penguin breeding program and the rescue seals. The cafe was also good quality and value. Not the biggest sea life canter we have visited but definitely one of the better run.
Hi Sticho Thank you so much for leaving us a 4* review! We are glad you have enjoyed your day and enjoyed seeing the tropical reefs in particular. Thanks again, and we hope to 'sea' you again sometime soon! Kind regards, Athena Guest Experience Team Leader SEA LIFE Scarborough

    Awkward and disappointing
Had to book online when we got there which was awkward as there is no signal in the aquarium so we had to go outside to sort out tickets, which then came up with an error code, the girls on the desk looked embarrassed and they ended up booking our tickets for us on our phone. There was no map or info for talks or feeding / info activities so we just wandered around. The accessibility is shocking, you get half way around and are told to turn around if you have a pushchair or wheelchair by a small sign on the wall but then there is no clear direction where to go. The staff in the cafe weren’t friendly and even though there were two of them it seemed only one could assist as when I asked the other girl she told me to join the queue, there was no one waiting but me with ice creams in my hand. If the rude girl is in training she needs a training badge and needs to adopt a friendlier attitude. There is a join in the play area floor that you walk through, one of us went over on their ankle. The outdoor kiosk shop closed with no warning - again no info to be seen? The aquarium is in a great spot for the beach and prom. Great parking. £115.00 for 6 adults, 1 over 3 and 1 under 3. I just felt like there hadn’t been any thought put into the staffing or access of the aquarium or if there had it was to make it as awkward and disappointing as possible.
Hi BedheadJ Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We are saddened to hear that your visit did not live up to your expectations. Our attraction is fully accessible, however, due to the age and design of the building, alternative routes will need to be taken at certain points. You'll still be able to see every colourful clown fish and cheeky penguin and a route map will be provided when you arrive. However, we will look into these issues you have addressed. A fascinating morning at Sea Life, Scarborough
Very interesting place. Watched the otters and seals being fed. Be sure to get a space in front of the seals prior to a talk/feed as they are very amusing. Listened to a talk about the penguins. Read about all of the exotic fish on display. Booked in advance and the price was very reasonable. Great place for all ages.

    So glad we went
We had a lovely time but I would advise people to book first as we had. When we arrived they were not accepting walk-ins only prebooked visitors. Also if you are a carer you get in free of charge with the person you are a carer for. You just need to take proof of this. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were lucky to see the rays and the sharks being fed and it was amazing. The staff were very imformative too. Sadly the penguins were closed due to health reasons beyond their control but we were able to see them from a distance. My favourites were the jelly fish, they are so graceful. There is a restaurant on site but it is very basic, fast food type of thing so we didn't bother although it looked okay if this is what you wanted. The gift shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Over all a very enjoyable experience.
Hi jakkied Thank you so much for leaving us a 5* review! All Merlin Attractions are pre-book only this is to help reduce overcrowding and the flow of the centre so everyone can enjoy their time. We are glad you have enjoyed the penguins at our three different viewing area. Thanks again, and we hope to 'sea' you again sometime soon! Breakfast with the seals
I took my daughter to the breakfast with the seals experience and it was fantastic, our guide Leo was great, so informative and a genuinly nice guy, we both learnt alot from him. The animals were all obviously well cared for and seemed happy in their enviroments. We also had breakfast in the cafe and the young lady that served us was lovely too, she went out of her way to ensure that my daughter who is vegitarian was catered for. A great experience all round.
Hi cherylsX7973DU Thank you so much for leaving us a 5* review! We are glad you have had a lovely time feeding the seals. Thanks again, and we hope to 'sea' you again sometime soon! Kind regards, Athena Guest Experience Team Leader SEA LIFE Scarborough
