    The reason for Buxton
Both the Visitor Centre and the Experience were well worth a visit. I suggest the attractive and informative Visitor Centre first for background information and then undertake the 'Experience'. The later is a well-constructed trip through various parts of The Crescent building, with guides, displays. objects and interactive experiences telling of Buxton's past. The rooms are beautiful and the guides enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

    Entertaining
I was unsure how worthwhile this would be but the positive reviews encouraged me and my husband and daughter to go along. I'm pleased to say it was well worth it. Joanne, our guide was lovely and gave us an interesting account of the history of Buxton and how it evolved as a spa town which together with all the interactive displays made for a very enjoyable outing. HIghly recommend.

A must visit tour if you’re going to Buxton!
My 8 year old loves all things history so I booked a tour as we were staying locally for a few days. I’m so glad we did! It ended up being a private tour, the three of us with a lovely volunteer guild called Kath. She was so knowledgeable and engaging. We learnt about the history of Buxton, the ‘healing’ water and how the town was developed to become a spa for the rich and famous. We tasted the Buxton water straight from the well too. If you’re visiting Buxton, this tour is a must!

    BUXTON CRESCENT HERITAGE TRUST TOUR
I took my parents on the heritage guided tour in the Crescent, our guide Megan was excellent and very knowledgeable. We learnt a lot, it was innovative and interesting. We got to see the ballroom as well at the end. Great tour!

A not to be missed heritage experience suitable for children over 7 and adults
This museum experience can be easily missed in this Grade 1 listed Crescent. You have to get your ticket from The Pump Room, a restored Victorian spa bath house opposite then you go across the road into the Crescent where you enjoy 9 rooms of interactive history dating back to the Romans. The volunteer tour guides are helpful and very well informed. Concession price was £12 each and well worth it. After this we went in the arcade of small shops , again in the Crescent but it only has a small entrance so look out for it as you walk round the corner from the main Crescent. A fantastic day out.

    Fab little place
Visited over Easter weekend so it was busy in the centre. However, still space in the visitor centre to complete the Easter duck trail they had . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Little exhibition about the water inside too
