It's as beautiful in person as the photos suggest
All I can say is it's as beautiful in person as the photos suggest - even more so. The view over the city in beautiful and the fact it's free to wander around makes it even sweeter. You can pay a small admission to go a little higher or visit the church, but honestly it's wonderful without visiting even those parts, so is great if you're on a budget. It was also handy that you can drive almost to the top - my mum can't walk far these days and we were worried she wouldn't be able to enjoy it cos of all the stairs.

Best food in Budapest and View
I can't give this place enough stars!! They were fabulous from the moment we walked up to the place. It was our first night in Budapest and we had no idea we would need a reservation for this place. They gracefully took us in because it was just the 2 of us. My husband had the 4-course meal and I had the 3. The staff was so very friendly and helped me with my Hungarian when I needed it. They encouraged me to speak it even though I am only a B2. This is a white-glove restaurant. So please dress accordingly. The presentation of all of the food and wine was just exquisite! Also, get there a little early to get photos of the entire city. The view is simply amazing and picturesque. I have told everyone I meet to eat here. It truly is a foodie's treat!

    Fishermans bastion
This is one of my favourite places in Budapest, very unusual architecture, also great views of Budapest , go up via the funicular, short ride, then the fishermans bastion about a ten min walk. There is also St Matthias Church, amazing inside and out. The national museum/ art gallery and buda Castle there

    Best views of the city!
My new favourite place in Budapest. We visited 3 times on a 4 day trip! Not only is the architecture beautiful, but you get incredible views of the city. Absolutely breathtaking and worth the visit! Tip: Visit early morning or evening to avoid the crowds. Tip #2: You need to buy a ticket to go up to the top sections in the day, but in the evening, they're free!

    Classic location
This was one of our favourite spots while visiting Budapest, the views are amazing but be prepared for many tourists with the same idea!! We had a walk around on Thursday evening (9PM) and it was much quieter so would recommend trying later on to get a less congested experience. You can see some inspiration here for Hogwarts! Lovely location and there are coffee shops nearby as well so good spot to relax after exploring the castle district.

    Enjoyed sights
There was so much more to see here than I expected. We enjoyed the sights of the Bastion and the city. Lots to see up here we went by cart which was great way to travel. We struggled to get a drink. Could be end of season so not so much open.

    Old city visit
Everyone goes for the view so its crazy crowded at midday - go early with a plan to have a drink or light meal in the cafe that operates in the overlook terrace. The locals were not too friendly perhaps they are only there to hustle the numerous tourists. In all of Budapest it was the most crowded area we visited. There are small shuttle golf carts up and down the hill that are reasonably priced and most efficient. If you want to take the funicular up the hill again go early the line is really long. The shuttle golf cart will tour you all over the high castle area for one price hop on+off.

    Fisherman's Bastion aka Disney Castle
This place is like a real life Disney castle. I was so taken by the views and the architecture. It's so beautiful and a must-see. The panoramic views of the city are nothing short of spectacular. Definitely make your way here.

    Impressive views of the city
We were staying nearby so were fortunate to see this place at day and night, it is worth seeing it at both as it does look very different. It is a busy area with lots of photo obsessed tourists, but the buildings are impressive and the views over Budapest are pretty special. At night time the views of Parliament and the Basilica really stand out.

    Fisherman's Bastian, Budapest in October
Get a taxi up unless you like exhausting yourself. Be ready to scan QR code to go through the messing around of buying a ticket to the upper perimeter for the best views. Probably possible to buy in advance or at a ticket office somewhere. I saw some people jump the gate the other side, couldn't be bothered maybe? I also noticed that there are a few restaurants that would have a nice view, although one of them had people lingering around and looking in trying to get a photo which wont be pleasant while in having a meal there. Its well worth a visit though at sunset, didn't bother going into any of the buildings there. Plenty of taxis at the back of buildings for the journey back into the centre.

The mineral-rich hot springs that feed the pools are believed to have therapeutic benefits, too. Unique experiences include the beer spa and the summer 'Sparty', a mega party held on the premises.
