Tourist cave of great archaeological importance. The visitable area has a volume of more than 100,000 m3 and a surface of 9,371 m2, which corresponds to a third of the total of the grotto. The Cave was used as a habitat, burial place and expression of cultural manifestations. The remains testify to the passage of hunters, gatherers and fishermen for more than 30,000 years. The General visit begins with the projection of an audiovisual (10 minutes) and continues with an audio-guided tour of the different rooms of the Cave, in a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes in which you will discover the secrets that the grotto keeps (audio guide in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian). There are also exclusive visits.

    Incredible caves.
Worth a visit, these are amazing caves and you can not appreciate the scale of them from the pictures. Takes about an hour to walk around. We got the little red train from nerja town, it runs every half an hour. (Easy way to get to the caves).
First of all: thanks for your comments and suggestions. We consider them very useful for the intention of constantly improvement of the experience of our visitors. Answering you: -Thank you for evaluating our cave positively. -We consider that the attention of our workers is adequate and efficient in general, in fact we have a quality protocol and continuous evaluations for constant improvement. However, in specific situations such as the one you comment on, we analyze whether it was possible to act with greater diligence, respect or speed. As soon as any type of incident is reported to us with respect to our staff, we study what happened and speak with the people involved, so that it doesn´t happen again. -All visits are audio-guided, there are no guided tours at the moment. We're sorry. You have 2 options in this regard, the traditional audio guide -which you can hire separately- and the audio guide on a mobile phone, which is free, and which you must download -in full- before entering the cavity, which we inform in our website and on various posters in the venue. Once downloaded outside, inside the cave you can listen to it without any problem, since it is on your phone, you do not need internet. The sound and technology is the same that you use on your mobile for other Apps. Both are very easy to use, since the route is numerical and appears on the light beacons. Press the corresponding number in the audio guide (either app or terminal), as explained before entering and on our website. Our staff tells you how to use it and advises you if you have any problems. -Nerja Cave has been declared Historic Interest Cultural. It needs maintenance and care, the price responds to the uniqueness it offers, it is unique in the world. Practically all of our collection goes to the maintenance, management, conservation, adaptation and promotion of this natural heritage. We also have a quota of free tickets and discounts for young people, large families, children, people over 65 and the disabled. In addition, that price includes access to Virtual Reality Room in the cave enclosure; a visit to the Nerja Museum and access to all the services of the cavity site: botanical garden, children's playground, path, picnic area... Thank you very much for your contributions. All the best.

    Worlds Biggest Stalagmite
We had pre booked our time slot for the cave so there was hanging around waiting to get tickets and hoping you can get into the cave. With our pre printed tickets we went straight to the entrance and was allowed access straight away. As soon as you walk in the entrance there are a couple of staff that want to take your photo in front of a green screen. We declined. When you leave the cave if you decided to have your picture taken this is where you collect it this costs 7 euros, price is not shown when your asked for your photo. Your images are superimposed on a picture from the cave. After passing the photo opportunity you then go down into the cave via concrete steps and walkway, in fact the concrete steps and walkway continues all the way through the cave so no need for walking boots any footwear will do. There are handrails also. The actual size of the cave is breathtaking. Photos are allowed but without a flash. There are staff about the cave telling people no flash. Apparently there is 589 cave paintings in the cave but they are not for viewing by the general public. The cave stretches for almost 3.1 miles. The cave was only discovered in 1959 by five friends. The cave also boasts the worlds largest stalagmite at a whopping height of 32 meters, its base is 13 by 7 meters and is a really impressive sight. We walked around the cave in about half a hour. This cave is impressive but I think the Cueva de la Pileta just beats it. Car parking here costs 2 euros that you pay at the exit barrier so have coins ready it wont accept card payments but just before you enter the car park there is parking on your left that’s free. We didn’t see it until we had left.
First of all: thanks for your comments and suggestions. We consider them very useful for the intention of constantly improvement of the experience of our visitors. Answering you: -Thank you for evaluating our cave positively. -All the caves in the world are magnificent, of course, and truly incomparable. Nerja Cave -declared as a site of Cultural Interest In 2006- is rich in stalactites, columns and other formations of great beauty that you cannot see anywhere else. All of them are framed in rock vaults of overwhelming dimensions. With a Guiness Record column! -It's an authentic museum of speleothems and, therefore, declared a Site of Geological Interest of international relevance. Thank you very much for your contributions. All the best.

    No signs. Fab virtual show
Was not originally in the plan since we have seen so many caves around the world; but glad we changed our mind. Everything is through your phone and I did not have enough battery. No signs or explanations at all. Don’t miss the virtual show!

Fun day out for all the family
Lovely experience, not like any cave we have seen before. Little pricey €18 to get in, and we were told parking was free but then on way out we had to pay at the barriers. Little embarrassing trying to rummage for the correct coins! The caves are truly amazing but would not recommend if you struggle with stairs. They take a nice picture on the way in that you can buy at the end for €8. We then had a lovely coffee at the cafe, staff were a little rude but in hindsight it was very busy and she was by herself running the floor.

    Enjoyable and not particularly cold
Well worth a visit if staying in Nerja. A little train takes you from Nerja to the Caves very regularly - tickets for both and be purchased when getting on train. There did not seem to be any body who works for the caves actually in them, so if you have a fall not sure how you would attract attention. Very enjoyable otherwise
First of all: thanks for your comments and suggestions. We consider them very useful for the intention of constantly improvement of the experience of our visitors. Answering you: -At Nerja Cave we have personnel trained in first aid and we’ve the appropriate means to care for a minor health problem. -Likewise, we’ve immediate contact with the 112 emergency teams, in the event of a serious health incident. Thank you very much for your contributions. All the best.

I would give it six stars if I could
Visiting the cave is like entering the most majestic cathedral designed and built entirely by nature. Walking through the chambers is a breath taking experience and this alone would be five stars for me. In addition to this, the whole set up has been given a lot of thought. Only some of the cave is accessible by the public so the ticket also includes a Virtual Reality experience where you get to visit the chambers that are not open to the public. Aside from being incredible fun, you get to literally immerse yourself in the history of how the cave formed and see the inaccessible chambers including the images that our ancestors depicted on them. To make the whole experience complete, the ticket also includes free entry to the Nerja museum where (amongst other things) you can see the artifacts recovered in the cave and find out more about the archaeological treasures that it contains. The museum is in the town of Nerja and you can upgrade the Cave ticket to include a ride on the small road train that connects the two. We did this for just 2 euros per person and we were then able to leave the car in the car park at the Cave (also 2 euros for the whole day) and have a chilled ride into town without fighting the traffic. One final thing to mention, you can download the free audio app for the cave and the museum in advance from the App store. Just search for Cueva de Nerja and make sure you have the Audio tracks downloaded on your phone before you get there.

    Busy but worth the visit
Very busy but worth the visit. You get your photo taken at the start which you can buy at the end. It's very interesting in there and there is an audio guide you can listen to as you go around. There is also a playground, gift shop and a VR room! Inside the VR room, you can learn about the history of the caves while looking around which is great!

En temporada alta, puentes y fines de semana, prácticamente todos los grupos y todas las horas están completas, pues debemos adaptarnos al interés general que busca visitar la cavidad, en equilibrio con los cupos para su adecuada conservación. Definitely worth visiting!
If you are in the area, make time to visit this amazing attraction. Book your tickets in advance. Park in the onsite carpark but remember 2 euros in cash to exit the car park! The caves have lots of steps but well done with handrails throughout. Lots of great photo opps, but no flash. Download the free audio guise sent with your ticket booking and remember headphones. Audio guide very informative without being too much - just 9 short tracks of 1-2 mins each. The caves were so much more impressive than we could have imagined. When you leave remember to go and watch the VR film in adjacent building, only 10 mins but really good. Free included in your ticket. Lets you see parts of cave and paintings no longer open to public. Film was fun too and a great 360 view flying in over Nerja. It was an expensive visit but we are so glad we went.

    Nerja Caves
Well worth the visit if visiting Nerja or near by. 10 minutes in a taxi from Burriana Beach. We were a party of 11, with a mixture of adults and teens. The day we were there it was 38c in the sun so the time at the caves was a welcome break from the intense heat. What stops me giving it 5 stars is the combination of cost and time it takes to do the caves. They advertise it as 1-2 hours, but the reality is you can get round it in half an hour as we did, and we weren’t rushing around. Nice restaurant on site with views of the coast. We opted for the mini tourist train back into Nerja for the evening which cost €4 each and took around 25 minutes.
First of all: thanks for your comments and suggestions. We consider them very useful for the intention of constantly improvement of the experience of our visitors. -Thank you for evaluating our cavity positively. We comment that: -The tour for visits in Nerja Cave has an estimated duration of about 45/60 minutes, never less. It’s the time that has been established as adequate to complete the entire itinerary, also allowing you to stop to contemplate the main points of interest of the cavity. But you can spend more time inside. The price also includes the Virtual Reality Room, on the enclosure, and the Nerja Museum. Thank you very much for your contributions. All the best.
