- KentMrsHKent, United Kingdom80 contributionsGreat guide MartinWe were given a voucher for the Shepherd Neame brewery tour, and redeemed it in the nick of time as it lasts 6 months from purchase. Martin was our tour guide and he was fantastic! We have toured breweries, distilleries, vineyards and champagne houses before and he was the best guide we've had. He was informative (I now understood the brewing process) and entertaining. I'm usually thinking of the tastings at the end, which I was this time, but Martin made it a very manageable wait. The tutored tastings were completely enjoyable and Martin's tasting notes were just right.Thank you for the 5* review and your wonderful comments!Written 15 April 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 February 2024
- net07Worthing, United Kingdom38 contributionsBirthday presentThis was a birthday present for my other half (oh) who is partial to a Shepherd Neame pint. We arrived 30 mins prior to our tour as suggested, this allowed us to try a drink in the bar that is next to the brewery shop. We met our guide Billy who was happy to explain about the choices on offer. I went for the Cob Nit which is a seasonal drink, on offer for a few months each year. I really enjoyed the nutty taste. My OH had a Master Brew which he enjoyed. Once our tour time arrived, Billy explained the importance of safety etc as it is a working brewery. We walked down the road to start the tour, first stop was to collect a high vis jacket and watch a short introduction film. I won’t explain more about the actual tour as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone else visiting. There is a set of stairs to navigate going up and a separate set going down but they have sturdy rails and some of the flooring can be uneven but this is a working brewery. Billy the tour guide was very knowledgeable, sharing lots of information and answering questions as we walked around. We loved the function room and bar that is available to hire. When we got back to the bar we were greeted with 6 different beers to taste. Billy explained about each one and gave up tasting tips. After this finished we stayed to enjoy the drinks and popped into the well stocked shop to buy some souvenirs!! I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the beer making process or who just enjoys the product. We really enjoyed visiting Faversham, we visited on a Friday when the market was on and the high street was busy. Afterwards we had a superb dinner and a few more drinks at The Sun Inn - a Shepherd Neame pub.Thank you for the 5* review! - ClogsandsariLondon, United Kingdom90 contributionsLearn about Favershams role in brewing historyA great way to get to understand Favershams role in Britains beer brewing history. Our guide Nick had it pegged right with a nice balance of historical facts and information with a light touch for a Friday afternoon. We throughly enjoyed it. And the 6 light flight of Shepherd Neame beers at the end was a great way to tutored in the tastes. Thoroughly recommend even if you are not a big beer fan.Thank you for the recommendation and wonderful review!
